Morning Memo: Enough With The Theater Of Bipartisanship On Infrastructure Already | Talking Points Memo

It’s almost like there is a pattern regarding when our allies have confidence in the US:

Edit: Not that this is a surprise to us, but most countries view Biden as a stronger leader than Trump. Goes to show that the MAGA approach is as much a disaster internationally as it is domestically.

In a poll taken in October, Israelis preffered DJT over Joe by 63.5% to 18%. I wonder where they would be now on your graph?

You know I’m really questioning the accuracy of polling in this age of anyone can express their opinion on the internet. I’m just wondering if when we only had letters to the editor to get our feelings out there that polling was really getting to sample a variety of people and their views.
And don’t get me started on focus groups.

I think it is interesting to see that Japan and Italy think that Biden is less strong of a leader in comparison to Trump.

Actually, I think Dems should try to work out a bipartisan deal–between the party’s centrist, mainstream liberal and progressive left wings. I.e. Joe Manchin, Tim Ryan and Pramila Jayapal and the like should get in a room and iron out a deal.

Fuck the GOP, though. They can vote for it or not vote for it. Up to them and I don’t care.

Based on my very limited “polling” of family there, this doesn’t seem far off. Most of my Israeli relatives are left-leaning and wouldn’t think of voting for Likud or Bibi. But after years of being spoon-fed propaganda by the very same people about how Obama was horrible for Israel and Trump was great for it, they’ve come to believe it. It’s all nonsense and I try to explain it to them, but with all the missiles and attacks and hysteria about Iranian nukes, they’re in bunker mode and not very amenable to reason and facts. But they’ll come around eventually, I believe.

Deep down a majority of Israelis are more left than right-leaning, if less so than in the past mostly for demographic reasons (right-leaning Orthodox and Oriental Jews have more children, basically), and historically have preferred Dem over Repub presidents. They LOVED Clinton there. They’ll love Biden too, eventually. Wait till Bibi’s out of office and in prison and some sort of peace talks resume after several decades of Bibi and Likud-forced stagnation. It’ll happen.

Not a coincidence that two of the Axis powers more admire fascist traits in leaders.

Interesting they didn’t have this reaction this year, last year, the year before…when Houston Methodist required employees to get the flu vaccine.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Houston Methodist Flu Vaccination Policy

Q: Am I required to get the seasonal flu vaccine?
A: All Houston Methodist employees are required to comply with the annual influenza program. Our policy (HR93) also covers volunteers, physicians, students, contractors and vendors. It is our obligation to our patients to be vaccinated. Our goal is for 100 percent of our employees to be vaccinated. This year, you must receive your flu vaccine between Sept. 23 and Nov. 15 in order to be in compliance with our policy.

Enough With The Theater Of Bipartisanship

yep, quite possibly true - as of this point in time, there is no utility in attempting to obtain “collaboration” or “cooperation” or “compromise” . Clearly, in the present environment, attempting to find a way to jointly move things forward is futile - because the strident terrorist MAGA-nazis on the far-right are dogmatically dug-in on a “No negotiation, no deals” position and they are holding guns to the heads of all those in the GOP who might be inclined to make deals.

McConnell has made it painfully obvious that he is unwaveringly dedicated to doing everything he can to DESTROY Biden’s Presidency… McConnell may personally be fond of Biden - but as they say - this ain’t personal - it’s “BUSINESS” … and until there is a dramatic change of circumstances McConnell is doing “business” and - Obstruction will be the GOP mission.

Ultimately it probably is going to require lethally (politically) cracking some crazy right-wingers skulls and causing some professional carnage / career fatalities … and maybe some very very long incarcerations. There are a number of GOPers who have gotten themselves way way out on a far right-wing limb and have engaged in activities that should have had deadly career consequences - but there has been a reluctance to go for the jugular … NOW may be time to incinerate a few of the ones who are attempting to bring down democracy… It is going to take some bold action to demolish the stranglehold that the the strident terrorist MAGA-nazis on the far-right currently have on the rest of the GOPers
