But this morning the transition is beginning its first full day. I hope some progress can be made before the inauguration. Preparation at least. Good things happen when serious professionals talk about how to handle a situation, with the resources of an advanced nation to draw on. And maybe now that he’s at least on one level seen reason about his future, Trump can stop telling us what a good job he’s done. That would be progress too. Meantime, mask up and avoid indoor crowds, gang. Ways to go yet.

The lines were so long for tests in NYC, the waits were 5 hours. These are the people getting on the planes – and trains and into their cars – to go home for the holiday. No matter that one test isn’t real clearance and is meaningless. Here they go – straight from the NYC subway system to mom and dad, and you red America. Good luck.
