I’m still waiting for mine because I opted to receive my income tax check in the mail vs direct deposit.

Thanks Obama!

Does this mean someone will fire his ass for mismanagement of taxpayer money?

Yeah, I thought so.

Does this mean he’ll show up in front of the House to explain how that happened?

Yeah, thought so too.

I guess the only saving grace is that tRump isn’t able to fire anyone in the GAO since they’re not under his thumb and they are there to report to Congress.

Take good notes GAO, we’re gonna need them later when we take these fuckers to court for intentionally misappropriating that money. Oh, and if you don’t think some of that money was intentionally misappropriated or handed out simply because they didn’t have death certs from Social Security, I got a bridge to sell you. The IRS under Mnuchin have been playing political games since they refused to hand over tRump’s taxes eons ago, for which they were entitled to have as part of their oversight.

And people thought Geithner was bad. He was, but he was leaps and bounds better than this asshole and nothing like the Foreclosure King in charge of the Treasury tRump has had in that position.

“The federal government sent coronavirus stimulus payments to nearly 1.1 million deceased people…”

And how many of them were alive when the checks were mailed?

:scream:

A whole lot more folks are gonna die by the time this GOP turd parade gets around to “helping” them.

I was waiting for the recovery act check since I also have my tax refund send to me as a check. Instead them sent me the debit card from something called the Money Network in Omaha, NE. I was pissed because the check is so much easier. Most of the transactions on it have no fee. I had it sitting on my desk for the past few weeks. Finally the other day I registered it and went to my bank and deposited it into my account. For the life of me I don’t know why they did this but from what I read Mnuchin thought “Oh cool, give people debit cards” Its fairly inexpensive for Treasury to gear up and send millions of checks, as exemplified by refunds during tax season or the 2007 Bush Pelosi stimulus that sent $300-$600 to most people.

It’s remotely possible I got a debit card and threw it away, but it’s highly unlikely.

There were articles about that happening. For most people when you receive a letter or solicitation from Omaha, NE or Delaware with some sort of card in it you think its a solicitation or its your new card. When I received mine in the mail for a minute that’s what I thought, then I read it. Oh and the obligatory Trump letter came in the mail a few days later.
Another reason why I wanted the check was that I wanted to use my sharpie to cross out Trumps signature and write in someone admirable like Lt. Colonel Vindman or Fiona Hill.

I know I never got that, I’d have spit on it and thrown it in the garbage… outside.

Wait for it - this situation will be a talking point on why mail by ballot is a fraud, and will result in dead people voting. So it’s not all bad news for the administration.

I imagine the dead who got those checks were grateful.

Well the difference would be that the federal government mailed this shit out to dead people. They don’t have anything to do with the election, which are actually 50 separate elections the states have sole authority over. So no comparison there.

“Mistakes were made”

We’re doing GOP oldies!

"The GAO said that payments to the dead were made in error as the Treasury Department and the IRS hurried to disburse some 160.4 million of these payments totaling $269 billion after the Cares Act was passed in March. "

They didn’t hurry that much, we’re still waiting…

I totally understand that.

It won’t stop the messaging of “see, mailing important things by mail like ballots is such a bad idea.” Facts aren’t required for those folks.

Uh did they die from the flu?

I’ve actually gotten mine and was surprised as I thought my wife and I had a combined salary higher than the max.
