James is a charismatic good looking guy. Peters not bad but not stellar either. That James is black may tempt some blacks in the state who would otherwise not consider any one with his ideas.
Two years ago when he ran for Stabenow’s seat, James was Trump’s third son. Now he’s never heard of the guy, and the only time you see Republican on his ads, it’s in the white letter sponsorship caption.
Yes, the straight ticket ballot option may hurt him as well.
completely agree with your analysis. James has charisma and I think that his ads are pretty effective for low information voters. He has flooded the airways with ads about how much he cares about the health care of his asthmatic son even though we all know that he supports eliminating the ACA.
I think that Peters has not effectively tied James to Trump (I believe that he said that he is 2000% behind Trump). Glad to see that Peters is getting the financial support he needs. He is a good senator and would be awful to lose him to an empty suit.
