Moms For Liberty Co-Founders Use SPLC Naming Them An ‘Extremist Group’ As An Excuse To Raise Money

Two of the co-founders of the ultra-conservative “parental rights” organization Moms For Liberty appeared on Facebook Wednesday to fire back — and solicit donations — after the Southern Poverty Law Center named them an “extremist group” in its annual report

One sad thing about supposed parental rights, is that with computers and bar code scanners it shouldn’t be all that hard for libraries to let parents censor what their own kids read. Just let the parent make the effort of listing their child’s blacklist, which the computer should be able to pull up when the kid swipes their library card.

But nooooooo, what they really want is to censor what anyone else’s kid gets to read.

From the SPLC’s page on Moms For Liberty:

Since its inception, the group has encouraged its chapters and members to become watchdogs and gain positions in local school districts, usually by seeking open school board seats… To aid in this goal, the group has hosted online and in-person school board trainings in partnership with the Leadership Institute.

(emphasis mine)

That bit about training is a big deal.

It’s proof these people are really serious about pursuing results. It’s a good idea, and it will almost certainly help them capture seats on school boards.

I sure do hope we libs are doing something similar.

Off topic — Donnie may be indicted for espionage and obstruction in the stolen documents case as soon as tomorrow:

Would it be wrong to say I preferred the Smilodon?

However, your custom-banned books list probably will not fly with librarians. They are strongly in favor of zero censorship. Heck, in my youth, I could even walk into the adult section, mother’s library card in hand, and check out sf and mythology books.

What they really want is the Federal Govt. to pay for their neighbor’s children to be indoctrinated.

All this parent’s rights stuff has a fat dollar sign in front of it.

“We say, stick it to Southern Poverty Law Center and donate to us,” Tina Descovich declared on the broadcast. “Show that we don’t care what they you think.”

…what they really want is to plug into the cash cow that is the irrational paranoia market.

Nice sign there for your little song-and-dance, MFL.

And Americans don’t co-parent with fascists.

End of story.

“We do NOT co-parent with the Government.”

Which is why you and your kids are fucked up compared to most normal people and their kids.

If the GJ is still taking testimony as late as earlier today, I have serious doubts we will see an indictment this week if there are indeed indictments on the way.
