Mnuchin Touts ‘Strongly’ Recovering Economy, Offers No Concessions

In between trumpeting that the economy is “recovering very strongly” and that the jobs market is “strengthening,” Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin admitted that “certain areas” of the economy need more help — but offered little in the way of concessions that would restart negotiations on legislation to address the problem.

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin admitted that “certain areas” of the economy need more help

Glad you can admit that Steve.

by touting “increases in jobs, retail sales, business activities and home sales,”

Hey Steve would you remind us the percentage of GDP for retail, home sales, and breakdown what you mean by business activities? mmm thanx

He admitted that there are certain industries and sectors of the economy that need further relief,

Why don’t you spell out what sectors are in the tank, Steve. And maybe you could explain how in the time of a global pandemic you propose to get these sectors back on track. Oh and could you work in synergy and copacetic so that we know you mean business?

“I do not support $2.2 trillion,” Mnuchin said at the hearing.

But the Trump Regime supported enthusiastically the $1.5T tax scam for the rich who did not need those financial break while millions of Americans during this pandemic badly need this second round of financial aid! At this point, it’s reasonable to say that the Republican Heals Act is really The HEELS Act!

“But what is more important is what is the breakdown of getting money to American workers, American families, kids,” - Mnuchin

Ha ha ha…Truth = Its more important to get the PPP loans to trumpian cronies and that is why you kept the list of recipients secret for months!

Bottomless corruption, hypocrisy and shamelessness!

Like the Trump team does with with violence, once again they claim Trump has done great and any negative is due to Democrats in general and Biden specifically. And of course the only measure of the strength of the economy is the stock market.

And then overstate their occupancy rate to show how well they’re selling.

Yep, the stock market is going into the stratosphere, while the real economy is going through fifteen flushes down the toilet.

upon analysis of the PPP, the committee found that “a lack of oversight and accountability from SBA and Treasury may have led to billions of dollars being diverted to fraud, waste, and abuse, rather than reaching small businesses truly in need,” said Chairman Jim Clyburn (D-SC

It bugs me that Kanye received a loan for his Yeezy brand for between 2-5 million. He bought two ranches in Wyoming for nearly 30 million last year. He’s looking at a third ranch now. His wife makes about a million bucks per sponsored Instagram post. Her income is 72 million a year and he’s worth about a billion.according to Forbes. Yeah, Just Kim alone makes double what Jared and Ivanka made last year and she doesn’t really do anything other than snapping a lot of photos and posting them on social media… Sure, Jared and Ivanka most likely made a lot more under the table off the books via some schemes cashing in on insider knowledge. Possible we’ll never know.

I’ll bet a lot of black or minority owned businesses went without while Kanye’s loan was approved. I seriously doubt his business was in peril and jobs would have been lost if not for the PPP loan.

Yes, he’s making a bundle in the stock market. Meanwhile we have over 10 percent unemployed and a larger percent way underemployed, but things are just peachy. So peachy and grand those old poors and the new poors can just fuck themselves.
