In an obviously unrelated and coincidental development, a whole bunch of people who are supposed to get these payments directly deposited into their bank accounts, because they’ve given the IRS this information on their 2018 or 2019 returns and/or get Social Security and other federal benefits via direct deposit (including my parents), and until now were told with 100% assurance that their payments would be directly deposited, have just been told that they’ll be getting paper checks, in late April.

Oxford prof. Sarah Gilbert says that SARS-CoV-2, if it behaves like other CoVs probably leaves a weak immune signature so it’s possible to get reinfected. But she she thinks a Vaccine can be developed that will last a lot longer, at least a year.
Scientists working on a coronavirus vaccine in Britain hope to start clinical trials towards the end of next week.
The leader of a team working on a vaccine, Professor Sarah Gilbert, from Oxford University said scientists believed it was possible to become infected with Covid-19 more than once.
She added that a vaccine-induced immunity could last longer than the infected-induced immunity.

I think denying it was incredibly obviously Trump’s idea is the perfect symbol, actually, of a guy who slobbered his idiot name all over everything until he was broke and had nothing but the D-lister celebrity recognition of that name to peddle and then eventually they had to start taking his idiot name off all the stuff because it was box-office poison. That’s always the arc things take with Trump, and pretending this wasn’t his idea is the perfect symbol of that, I quite agree.
