I don’t know how long it takes to stand up a census effort, but a Democratic administration in 2029 should be able to set this right. Of course they’ll have a whole lot of #@% to set right, but this should be one of the priorities.

Obligatory cute marsupial for being first:

Yeah, but which court?

He’s got two just now, no?

The 2030 cenus is one of many things that Dems in Congress, Dem/progressive think tanks, and academics should be (and, I hope, are) working on right now. Have detailed blueprints ready for a 2029 Dem administration and, where legislation will be necessary, Dem Congress.

There’s a small part of me that wants to see the results of a future Fetterman Democratic primary election. But he’ll most likely decline to run again for “health reasons.”

While it may be hard to toss an entire presidency’s work in the trash, in this case it may actually make things a lot harder not to.

Held in contempt? He should be in jail. I must wonder what Kavanaugh thinks about being overruled by a (state) Secretary of State. As for the deluded old man who spoke in Dallas, where the hell does he think this money is going to come from? He ain’t putting up a penny. Citizenship questions on the Census? I don’t think so….try counting people instead of trying to deport them.

“I’m a lifelong Democrat who votes overwhelmingly with my party — and should the Senate flip in November, I will still be the 51st vote that I ran on,” he said.)

  • Fetterman

What the hell is that suppose to mean? Fetterman needs to be impeached or something else…..

Might be worth mentioning, casually, in passing, perhaps, that excluding ‘many categories of immigrants from the count which is used for apportionment’ violates the black letter of the Constitution.

Article I, Section 2, Clause 3:

The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.

Fourteenth Amendment Section 2

Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed.

And, of course, it’s also important for the determination of, and transfer of, payments to the states from federal programs.
So, it’s not just a transfer of power but an institutionalization of relative impoverishment.

Ain’t nobody ever going to see that money, regardless of the election outcome.
