Too much institutional knowledge has gotten us to where we are now, with too many corrupt legislators knowing how to game the system.
Or being forced into bankruptcy. That would have been more just. But this has gotten a lot of attention. Good.

For years, I’ve been saying that if country clubs and corporate executives were the targets of all these shootings instead of schools and nightclubs, the Republicans would repeal the 2d Amendment in 5 minutes. I’m curious to see if we start hearing that chatter.

They may not be crazy in a medical sense, but they sure live in a parallel universe.
I suspect they always have. I think at base they want to control women’s sexual behavior.
They believe that the fleeting pleasure of sexual congress has to be “paid for” with some kind of discomfort or pain. They are just mean little shits.

I believe it more along the lines of it’s God’s will if a woman dies in pregnancy. But then is it God’s will for Daddy to rape his daughter?

They are criminally insane. We have to say it because that’s how they behave. Like mass murderers, completely devoid of any empathy or recognizable human emotion other than cruelty. And the criminally insane are drawn to insane ideas, like there’s a giant invisible man in the sky who’s evil and cruel and inflicts cancer on children and lets little children die in a classroom in a hail of bullets because, freedom. But He is also jealous and sick and hates pleasure so he watches you masturbate and knows whether you’re straight or sick and gay, and he wants you to suffer for your sins. But since He isn’t here, I am the instrument of His Vengeance and I will slaughter the sinners and the unclean.
And these are the people who are about to run the United States of America. If you think we can get through the next four years without a major shooting war, you’re delusional.

Of course it is. The desire to be ruled by a “god” is nothing less than the desire to be enslaved. Making decisions every day is complicated and tiring. Better to have a lord and master to make all those decisions for you, even if it means destroying your own children because, hey, I can’t be held responsible. It was “god’s” will.
It would be nice if we had a Democratic party in the state of Missouri working as hard as the Republicans to advance popular positions.
