Missouri Gov. Mike Parson suggested on Friday that he would pardon Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple that aimed their guns at Black Lives Matter protesters in their neighborhood, if they were to be convicted for the incident.
It is really pathetic, but who are the “victims” that the GOP is rallying to defend? Traitor Michael Flynn, imbecile George Papadoupoulos, ratfucker Roger Stone and these uber-jerk McCloskey couple… can’t they find a single decent person to defend? Or are absolutely all republicans total POS themselves that they cannot tell the difference?
[“By all means, I would, and I think that’s exactly what would happen. Right now that’s what I feel,” Parson replied when local radio host Marc Cox asked the governor if he was weighing a pardon.
“You don’t know until you hear all the facts and all that,” Parson added. “But right now, if this is all about going after them because they did a lawful act, then, yeah, if that scenario happened, I don’t think they’re going to spend any time in jail.”]
As eager as Seabiscuit. And with none of his character.
A pre-pardon? In the unlikely case the system forgets to be massively racist in who it chooses to charge with crimes, then don’t worry yahoos the governor’s got your back.
Going on record in defense of the mean girls in school is definitely the way to get the broader population on your side.
I for one am heartened by the fact that the GOP is finally wearing their hearts on their sleeves. It’s a lot easier to call them the party of racists, when they are actively defending every racist person and racist act in the country right now.
Sure pardon them and watch all the yahoos emulate the fucking asshats. I can see it now, demonstrators for any positive change will be threatened decoys.
The story that gets told occasionally but not often enough is the story of hundreds of people who deserve pardons but aren’t getting them because Trump has disrupted the entirely normal process of presidential pardons. Just another scandal beneath the scandal obscured by the rhetoric around the most obvious surface scandal. “Trump level corruption” is another phrase that will be added to the lexicon if we survive these assholes. It will be a way of saying “bottomless”.
A criminal prosecution would be all about determining whether they “did a lawful act.” If they’re found guilty, it would rather strongly suggest they didn’t! But that won’t stop the Governor from pardoning them. - if he thinks it’s politically beneficial. That consideration will trump the verdict.
For years it’s been “It’s okay if a Republican does it” when it comes to laws, regulations and rules. I see now that the law and order party has now added their supporters to the list of people allowed to circumvent rules and break the laws. Especially if you’re carrying a gun and are white.
Surely our “Law and Order” president would never approve of a pardon for the couple. You do that and soon we’d become a lawless country. You start with little things like that and next you might even have the US Attorney General interfering in cases.
