Mississippi GOP Sen. Applauds Removal Of Confederate Emblem From State Flag

Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) on Monday praised his state’s move to officially erase the Confederate battle emblem, widely seen as a symbol of white supremacy, from the Mississippi flag.

Wicker argued that Mississippi’s decision came about in part because of NASCAR’s new ban on Confederate flags, which was “absolutely the right thing to do” “the kind of cover we needed, because our polling is catastrophic, and we need someone to hide behind”. and “created a bandwagon effect.”

Racism is over, and the Alabama GOP ended it. Congratulations, everyone!

Also…the War in which more Americans died than in any other would have had Trump in Burma (or any other place as far from the American South as possible when the call came for men to fight).

Their polling must be really bad to throw Cletus under the bus.

I can’t wait for thousands of them to descend on the state capitol to wave their rebel flags and whine like toddlers.

Now, why has Georgia been escaping notice?

There will be a burning cross in your yard because Jesus loved that flag.

Lovely. Posts protesting against white supremacist and Confederate avatars are flagged by the “Community,” but the racist iconography is not.

Says a lot about this “Community.”

Black Lives Matter but apparently not by some here.

TPM should ban and remove white supremacist avatars and racist comments.

Even if this is a forced correction, made possible by economic and demographic reasons, it’s still a step in the right direction. I don’t know what other factor would have brought about this change, even if we wish it would a moral one.

Well, insult tweet will be incoming soon…

This is a nice gesture. Meaningless though without official words condemning the Confederate flag as a flag of treason and un-American.
This just guarantees that the flag will continue to be a symbol of the defiant South. Bubba, Cletus and all their friends will take it upon themselves to proudly fly the flag they love. Want to get rid of the Confederate flag? Then ban the damn thing. Germany banned the flag millions of their war dead fought under. They did it because it was the right thing to do.

Methinks Senator Wicker is attempting to jump off a sinking ship. I’ll applaud him for saying the right thing, this time.

So deeply delusional.

First, who has a racist a avatar?

Second, you were flagged by one maybe a couple of people, not the “Community.”

Third, your post is shit-stirring virtue-signalling idiocy looking to start an argument and insult people because your only goal here, ever, appears to be doing just that while pretending you’re the wokest motherfucker ever to awaken.

Grow up.

The Senator reads the writing on the wall just a bit too late. This is going to be a popular tactic in a couple months.

Well at least in MS this battle has been raging for sometime. In the background reporting on MS getting rid of their current flag I believe I remember reading that businesses didn’t like it, and you know how GOPpers bow down to businesses. I just think that in this time frame they finally did have the cover they needed to change their flag. It will be telling to see what they replace it with.

Roger Wicker is betraying Preshitident Skanky-Turdface, First Lady and Half-Wife Iwanker, the Trump Organization and Trump Steaks by supporting the removal of the Flag of Racist Confederate Traitors who wanted to destroy America. I am wondering why spineless Roger did not find his voice to speak up on this issue earlier.
