Women’s health is more than abortion. But the goobers cannot see that.
My whole career was in reproductive physiology (I’m retired now) so it isn’t like I am new to the subject as a lot of republicans seem to be.

“Pregnant people” is bullshit language. Maybe 1 in 10,000 (at most) pregnancies are by a trans man. Stop eliding the fucking problem, which is misogyny.

ETA: Not angry at you, actually happy that you put your finger right on the problem.

Where did I use the term "pregnant people in my post? Where did I mention trans men? Why is saying “women’s health is more than abortion” cast as misogyny?

Thanks
You had me worried for a moment there.

FYI
My research work was in ovarian cancer, … causes et cetera in the beginning and that led us to early detection methods. For guys, finding prostate cancer early is easier due to the presence of the prostate specific antigen test. It’s way too common in older men. But there is not such test for ovarian cancer I am aware of as there are lots of different proteins expressed in cancers of different origins. We devised a way using optical coherence tomography to see the ovary millimeters deep, cell by cell. Eventually this method will be done in an office visit to one’s MD.
I hate cancer. Ovarian cancer killed my mom and it took 12 years to do it. I am now a 3 time cancer survivor myownself. First was a basal cell type carved off my left temple in 2012. Then a squamous cell type cut out of my left forearm (2019). It was bad. Two days ago a teeny tiny bit of nasty got frozen with nitrogen off the edge of my left ear. I hate cancer. It seems to like me.

Your ETA is meaningless when your initial post doesn’t make any sense and doesn’t have anything to do with the post you were responding to. Maybe someone else wrote about pregnant people and you lost your place in your misplaced anger.

My bad, I quoted you but then responded in substance to the article.

Read the damn article, which de-genders the most gendered thing there is.

The first week after the Doe v. Minnesota decision, WE Health Clinic’s patients felt the impact. Casey said she was able to tell a mother that her minor daughter could receive an abortion without the permission of her long-absent father or from a judge. Briggs was able to schedule a next-day abortion, which would have been illegal before the judge’s decision.

How it should be. Great decision by the MN Courts to overturn these odious provisions.

I read the article. The article uses the phrase you are so worked up about. I also read your insulting reply ro a person’s comment.

Then read the thread, where I apologized for my unintentional unclarity.

In my (not so) humble opinion, abortion is a matter between the patient and her physician (and other competent medical advisors/providers.) End. Of. Story.

Of all the ways the the content of this article could have been presented WHY? WHY? WHY? did it have to be configured in a way that was permeated with an aroma of a sort of scolding of Minnesota for being complicit in a sort of racist provision of services?

You are, in all seriousness, one of my favorite posters around. I belatedly saw precisely how you would take offense, and note only that my ETA arrived about 10 seconds before your perfectly appropriate response.

That was the view that Roe compromised off of. Once you start crediting any reason to justify abortion, it quickly devolves into a straight-up medical decision. Which is as it should be.

I try not to get into arguments… except with discobot who seems to find it necessary to intrude into posts that are none of it’s business. It should detect that more than one poster was involves in this sort of “dust up”… here is what Nannybot sent me as I tried to type…

Encourage everyone to get involved in the conversation

You’ve replied 3 times to @txlawyer in this particular topic!

A great discussion involves many voices and perspectives. Can you get anybody else involved?

And don’t forget, if you’d like to continue your conversation with this particular user at length outside of public view, send them a personal message.

It is none of this nannybot’s business if I have more than a 3 time back and forth with someone.
Just sayin’

Nannybot needs to get a life.

I’m still all in favor of wanting the Hive to go to a discussion format so we can see everything of a conversation all in one place, instead of having to scroll through hundreds of posts to get to a point where one understands the entire convo. Would reduce a lot of duplication.

It’s not in the cards, but it would be nice.

9 times out of 10, that blue box on the right is just an annoyance. But every once in a while, it tells me somebody already posted whatever piece of news I’ve just discovered.
