Michigan GOP Guv Candidates Could Be Disqualified Over Forged Signatures

A signature forgery scandal has turned the race for the GOP nomination to be Michigan’s next governor on its head: Two leading Republican candidates did not collect enough signatures to qualify for the primary ballot after invalid signatures were excluded, according to a report from the state’s Bureau of Elections.

Forging signatures gotta be about as dumb as it gets. So easy to get caught.
Walk the streets – as I did in the early 80s – and you can get all real signatures.
Some will refuse, but enough are willing so that there’s no need for this stupidity.
Also, it’s vote fraud and can get you sent to the jug.

Obvious Fake News. Only Democrats cheat at elections.

Only the best. This does seem like it might run afoul of election law. But then again, IOKIYAR.

Once again; Republicans know that they can’t win fairly, so they cheat. I’ll be very interested to see the results of the Board’s vote. Lemme guess; a tie between the Dem and GOP members?

It turns out Trump was right all along. The election IS rigged. They ARE finding enough voters to win.

To me this has all the looks of a scam run by one Republican candidate against their competitors. Set up a company whose business is collecting signatures, get it recommended to all the the other candidates, perhaps by a friendly Republican leader in the state, purposefully collect enough fake signatures so the candidates fail to qualify. Eliminates most if not all your opposition, easy win for a low dollar investment compared to big spending on advertising. Just the thing I’d expect Republicans ethics to foster.

And the only candidate who didn’t turn in a bunch of fakes was the Big Lie-promoting, DeVos-funded Tudor Dixon. Hmm… Must be a coincidence.

The Republican candidates claim they were “defrauded” – but really, this kind of cheating is The Republican Way. Perhaps the candidates and their paid sig gatherers assumed that any Democratic office holders would either be feckless, or let them slide?

In my limited experience, Democrats in my area use VOLUNTEERS. There’s no financial gain per signature that way.

Good points. But the DeVos’ wouldn’t stoop this low, would they?

That looks very possible, just based on how these guys work. I hope the Democrats of Michigan reject them all.

The dirty trickers turn on their own. Never saw that coming. It is open season for fraud and cheating. Pop the popcorn…the show should be interesting.

So it’s now been established beyond doubt that all the GOP hot air about electoral fraud is pure projection. They accuse Dems of stealing elections because they are trying to steal the election. Not complicated.

We need to realize that it’s projection all the way down with these people. So when Trump accuses Stacey Abrams, as he did yesterday, of wanting to “radicalize your children and plunder your wealth and all of the other things,” well, um, holy shit. “Plunder your wealth” should really make the rest of us sit up and pay attention. But for me, at least, the imagination quails when it gets to “all the other things.”
