Michigan Attorney General Likens Trump’s Post-Election Gambit To ‘Friday The 13th’ Movie | Talking Points Memo

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) on Wednesday said that efforts by President Donald Trump and his allies to overturn election results has been like a horror film that comes back, hauntingly, again and again.

Even if Trump loses every single legal battle the rest of the way to 1/20/2021 he’ll will file a suit to have the inauguration delayed.

This is the right attitude…it’s ridiculous, there’s no evidence which is why it’s all being tossed out of court, and it’s wasting government resources. It really is the same as a three year old throwing a tantrum because they can’t get a candy bar, and doing everything they can to cause mom so much grief that she finally gives in.

The Texas case is different though…it’s so absurd that no one in their right mind would ever think about filing it, as it will lead to lawsuits between the states (Illinois has a great case for suing Indiana over gun sales that end up in Chicago is just one example). That case is performance art by Ken Paxton to get a pardon from Trump. We’ll see who else comes out of the woodwork to get something from Trump in exchange for attacking the foundations of our democracy.

I would liken it to a really, really evil Groundhog Day. Minus the groundhog.

This analogy trivializes the problem.

Michigan is in good hands with the ‘Big Three’ of Whitmer, Benson and Nessel.

I read once that John Belushi’s friends, as a left-handed tribute to his partying prowess, called him “The Thing that Wouldn’t Leave.” Seems appropriate.

“Press releases with filing fees.”

At this point I don’t really care about Trump and his delusions. I’m mad as hell at the GOP which is encouraging this shit that is tearing holes in our democracy.

What the fuck is wrong with them? GOP around the country are being threatened with death and their children terrorized and the party leaders are just egging it on.

Mockery is perfectly appropriate here.

And the worst thing you can possibly do to Trump is to laugh at him.

You could start listing what’s wrong with them and wonder when if ever you’d be done.

Same as the Old Confederacy. Just as tragically reckless and selfish.

Also MO’s AG,Eric Schmitt, my former MO state senator, bastard. The man has lost his soul since getting a statewide office and moving to Jeff City, MO.

There was actually an SNL sketch with that title back in the 70’s. I think Belushi was the unwanted guest.

For fuck’s sake - if they did sue their way into the presidency (again,) do they imagine we’d be a quiet docile majority that they could govern effectively?
