Michelle Obama Supports Greta Thunberg | Talking Points Memo

Not long after President Trump drew backlash for his Thursday morning tweet attacking Greta Thunberg for being named Time’s 2019 Person of the Year, former first lady Michelle Obama tweeted encouraging sentiments at the 16-year-old climate activist.Despite not directly mentioning Trump in her tweet, Obama urged Thunberg to not “let anyone dim your light” and to “ignore the doubters.”

It should be okay to call out Trump for his vulgarity and his clear lack of education.

But kudos to Obama for sticking up for Thunberg. That girl has the spotlight on her at a very early age. She’s going to need support as she goes along.

So now Trump will have to tweet something truly vile about Michelle.

Thanks Michelle! I’m sure Donnie etal will be OUTRAGED that you stuck up for Greta but he’s a moron who attacks children while being OUTRAGED that someone ‘punned’ his kid’s name…of course, he is ALSO outraged when we make fun of Eric, Don Jr. and Ivanka but that’s another story.

I notice how vociferously Malaria and her “BeBest” [sic] anti-bully campaign have come out in support of this bullied 16-year-old girl.

Oh, wait, my bad. Her campaign is only out to protect her own 13-year-old boy…and her vile husband.

(Kudos, Michelle, for being the First Lady who does the right thing.)

When we go high, we appreciate the budding wisdom of the next generation
When they go low, they elect Trump.

Well played, Ms. Obama!

This is what we’re fighting for, people like this. This is why you can’t get discouraged or revel in cynicism. The kind, thoughtful, decent people of the world have had enough and they’re standing up. Like Melville said in 1865, “Beware the People weeping when they bare the iron hand.

Personally is think the best age for a child is about 40. Before that I haven’t the time or patience for them.

Don’t let anyone dim your light, but watch out for drone strikes…

You can take the First Lady out of the White House, but you can’t take the White House of the First Lady.

Michelle Obama is a class-act, and she always will be.

Having Michelle as first lady was always the best part of Obama’s presidency.

She’ll be giving Trump a nice big warm smiley hug a few years after he’s out of office in the luxury box of some stadium in FL.

Strong, intelligent women speaking out can only help the world be a better place. And if they start by inadvertently shining light on incompetence and malice that dominates the tiny minds of those intimidated by her, turn them up to 11. I realize it’s too much to hope for that they expose the ineptitude and misogyny at the top of our government.

Seeing as she’s still the nation’s first lady, she may be one of the few bright spots of the Trump Presidency.

Beg to differ. Together, they were Team Best. It is a union of superlatives.
