Former New York City Mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg formally launched his presidential campaign on Sunday, making him the 18th candidate in the Democratic presidential primary.
I do get a strong sense of ennui emanating from the plutocrats, who have everything material this world has to offer, but still lack a certain something in their lives. Literally living over our heads in penthouse apartments and at 30000 ft in luxurious private jets isn’t enough to quiet their demons. Rather than reflect on that, they’d rather blow things up for their own amusement like a kid with a magnifying lens.
Number one qualification, he’s a billionaire and can totally relate to the millions of people that don’t come close to having his money. Hey, Mr. Ego, why don’t you put your money to good use and support one of the candidates now on the stage.
OT: So is would appear Trump stood down when threatened with resignation among the Navy’s top brass. And just after Gallagher made a jerk of himself on Fox today.
But many of them honestly think they’re doing it for our benefit. As much as I despise Microsoft, the Gates Foundation is at least doing some good without Bill making himself out to be some sort of savior. Bloomberg could do the same.
True. But Gates is not a fan of Liz Warren or Bernie, preferring to dole out “charity” on his terms, rather than allowing the government to serve its citizens.
Eh, Bloomberg was a Republican when he ran NYC. I can’t see anything in his programs here that would qualify him as a Democrat, not even with a small ‘d.’
For real, this is the guy who employed an anti-trust lawyer (Joel Klein) to run his Department of Education. The move was against the UFT (teacher’s union,) of which I am a member.
Sure, I could vote for him against current occupant, but that’s about the only reason I could do it.
