Is he busy cleaning up and closing ‘backdoors’ - making it harder for Biden’s AG to pursue the obvious crooks? Bunker Bitch and Moscow Mitch have a LOT of exposure. Sure, we can see Barr trying to give them more tools, more control to do Putin’s bidding. But is he also - simultaneously - trying to clean up the mess on aisle four - or at least obscure it and make it harder for Biden to clean it up?

I know, people are saying everywhere that you cannot compare this to 1968. But…
In 1968, at The Democratic National Convention, where inside they were nominating a nice centrist liberal and union guy to run for president, the Chicago police unleashed some of the bloodiest violence on protesters to the Vietnam War that I have ever seen on television.They were having themselves a nice little riot, and they used their clubs on everyone - white, black, male, female, journalists - everyone. It was an appalling spectacle of police brutality. I was just turning 17 that year, and as I watched what happened with horror and dread I thought everyone was seeing what I was seeing - police run amok. As any good history student knows, Richard Nixon was elected in one of the biggest landslides in American history as the “Law and Order” candidate a few months later.
We are smarter now, but what scares me are the swing states. Are there just enough people in those states ready to fall for the same bullshit again to fuck up the electoral college again? Are there just enough people who are so shocked at the pictures of people looting that they will be scared into voting for an authoritarian? This just haunts me right now. The American electorate is a funny and fickle thing, but the majority are almost always willing to throw a little liberty away for perceived security.
It is far too long until the actual election, and I cannot rely on polls this time to allay my fears. It is hard to remember what a joke Trump was as a candidate and how sure everyone was that Hillary was going to win - including Hillary and Trump himself. We were really, really sure, and all of the polling supported that sureness.
Fool me once…and you won’t get fooled again.

Everybody should know this is just another effort at intimidation and entrapment by another name. Using the excuse to spy on protestors in any covert fashion they deem necessary, the Feds are willing to stop, frisk and even charge individuals for an entirely different and most likely harsher offense, ignoring the rights of protestors to freely assemble and exercise their free speech under the 1st Amendment. It is nothing short of further suppression of individual rights. It is being done to intimidate young protestors in particular and its totally outrageous. Its more like tRump reenacting some kind of age old fantasy of his by being able to punch a hippie it seems. It also reminds me of how border guards would throw pot seeds into cars back in the day as you went from Detroit into Windsor to stop a car and have an excuse to search it in hopes of busting someone they didn’t like. Its so Nixon-esque, its ridiculous.
