He was just using his RWNJ word salad generator. It generates phrases with words that are unrelated to their meanings, but sound scary. Don’t be surprised if pedophile, radical, or socialist pop up the next time he puts it to use.
I was intrigued when I read CNN article about Lofgren’s report. Some of the activities she reports aren’t just normal right wing theatric politics. Some of it sounds like actual incitement of the 1/6 mob, and in a few cases some could be even worse. Some of the representatives have some serous explaining to do.
The [Washington] Times was forced to issue a correction after the tech company stated that their article was “outright false” and that their software had actually caught two neo-Nazis, with no evidence of antifa being present.
Fascist/anti-fascist, electron/positron. What’s the difference? It’s a common mistake that anyone could have made.
Gee, I wonder what the Republicans are doing about this information being published.
(smacks head) Of course!
-Depends!
Ah, the receipts.
Pro tip, never leave very clear receipts for your most seriously illegal drug deals on the public bench in the police station. It’s gonna bite.
The thing to realize is that what they were saying in private is likely different from these public pronouncements. I would bet that the Republicans who posted a few “we should make sure the votes are all counted” tweets and nothing else probably realized Biden won and were trying to cover themselves with the base. And, I bet the Gosar/Brooks/Gaetz/etc ones who put out massive amounts of posts were saying even worse things in the background, and were probably too stupid to realize that some of those messages were recorded or that people would testify against them.
This is just a marker…and, the fact that Lofgren did this and publicized it doesn’t bode well for any members of Congress that participated in the insurrection planning or private incitement of activities. We really need Garland in office for DoJ to start pursuing the investigations that may lead to those connections…we have to know the facts, whatever they are.
Some World Class Explaining needs to happen.
Trump, on another story, demonstrated his increasingly weak political presence. Trump’s only real weapon right now is the GOP hard Right.
And they are now encountering problems.
But but but…Tanden’s mean tweets!!!
They’re having an all-nighter reading their Dr. Seuss collections and playing with their Mr. Potato Heads.
Ms. Lofgren’s efforts are serious & good. Even so, this is exactly something an organized Democratic Party’s Defense of Democracy SkunkWorks should be doing.
In the digital realm, the crossword is a completely separate subscription, it’s not included in the news and subscribing to it doesn’t subscribe you to the news.
Just sayin’
This is absolutely brilliant…truly…but it is only the first step.
The next step is now turning it into a goddamn messaging drumbeat. These assholes haven’t been made to own their 1900 pages of idiocy. Sure, part of that is process accountability, like the 14th, disciplinary action or criminal charges. However, BY FAR, the largest component is beating them around the head, neck, shoulders and taint with their own words IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE.
I won’t be watching because fuck that on a weekend, but if no Dems are out there messaging about this all weekend, it’s a major fail. Major.
Beat. The. Fucking. Drum.
NMNQ
Orwellian in its complete unmooring of words from their meanings, but not actually as horrible as another thing he said:
Brooks, on Jan. 7, wrote that when citizens lose faith in the system, they have “three bad options”: Emigrating, submitting, or fighting back with violence. “We don’t ever want citizens in America feeling they have been forced into the aforesaid box, with 3 bad options,” he wrote.
Dear Reprehensible, I mean Representative, Brooks: Submitting to the result of a free and fair election when your side loses is not a “bad option”. It is a bedrock principle of democratic government.
Comma you asshole.
That is all.
Here’s a little mental game to play: imagine that on Jan. 6th the insurrectionists were able to grab Pence and Pelosi and some others, and hold them hostage-- does anyone really think Trump would have told them to stop at that point, or would that be exactly what he wanted, and he’d use it to his own advantage?
Imagine one of the GOP-lie-promoters getting caught in the Senate chamber, what would they do then? “Hey I’m on your side!” or “No, stop, this has gone too far”?
“White” nationalist has always been a lie. There is plenty of Hispanics, (East) Indians, and other ethnicities in the white nationalist movement. But the white nationalist label keeps the rubes happy.
That’s GOP bipartisanship.
No it isn’t. It’s identity politics even if you’re not, ‘technically white’ you’re culturally appropriating, all the trappings and seeking to gain all the ‘advantages’.
This is the part where my family just rolls their eyes, but… There’s more than a little evidence to indicate that the NYTimes is helping to run a disinformation campaign for a hostile foreign power. I could be wrong. It could just be that they are drooling, gibbering morons.
(I’m not gonna point out that Ms. Haberman could easily be used to try to prove either side of that question. But, you know, she could be.)
