House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday introduced the impeachment managers who will be making the case to the Senate to convict and remove President Trump. The House will approve their selection in a floor vote later on Wednesday, the final necessary step before the House transmits its impeachment articles to the Senate.
Thank you TPM for this summery of those on the front lines of this. Iâm happy with the selections based on the House impeachment hearing that I saw (not too much) My take on Rep. Crow is that this will hopefully lead to more coverage of the event on CO, if that is even possible. This puts more heat on Sen. Cory Gardner who is already in big trouble in the polls.
Smart take on it. They obviously like him, might be thinking of grooming him for bigger things, and get his name and face out there in the great state of CO.
We knew who would be âhitting in the middle of the orderâ (Schiff, Nadler).
Do like that Ds will have Zoe Lofgren who can personally attest to proceedings in both the Nixon and Clinton impeachments (Nadler too, on the latter). Add three more attorneys (including a military vet), then a former police chief. Add in a dash of melting-pot America-- et voilĂĄ! â across-the-board expertise and disciplines to speak to most any facet necessary.
At first blush? Thought so too. Felt his addition might have held merit. But after some time had passed-- taking into account the RightWingWurlitzerâs propensity to create noise from very little? Justin Amashâs inclusion would afford some measure of distraction to reporting on the proceedings.
(PS-- Probably best not to give Twitler any ammo either.)
Good choices all. Speaker Pelosi knows what sheâs doing. Hopefully they will prevent the Republican machine from running smoothly toward the cover up McConnell has been trying to engineer.
And no one should forget that notwithstanding his apparent full-throated support for impeachment, Amash remains an unrepentant Tea-Party/Freedom Caucus thinker. I do not think that âthe enemy of my enemy is my friendâ really works here.
