The spray used on the officer was 3-4 times stronger than the typical self defense spray. And bear spray is delivered not as a squirt but a streaming dense fog. And it was delivered into his face.I would not be surprised if it caused him to stroke. A toxicity study in mice suggests 5.8 to 8.1 grams could be lethal to a person weighing around 170 pounds.
