The Supreme Court upheld a key mechanism for beneficiaries of federal spending programs to sue if states violate their rights Thursday, the conclusion of a case that spawned protests, hearings and bottomless worry from activists and experts terrified that the Court would use it to hobble programs like Medicaid.
I say we spend $50 million of taxpayer money to bribe John Roberts into retirement, then nominate KBJ to be the next Chief.
Alito and Clarence the Corrupt in dissent. Who could’ve guessed. I’m just glad the other four did the correct thing with their votes.
The money might be better spent if you give it to Thomas. He’s already established that he’s a relatively cheap buy. Just saying…

The cruelty and inhumanity of Thomas and Alito is unspeakable. Alito just evil; Thomas too, but he’s sure showing us, isn’t he? How dare we peons ask for an ounce of accountability.
Even they realize how bad their decision in Roe is playing out.
Anyone who claimed they are apolitical is blind, deaf, and very likely dumb.
Thomas dissented (of course). Does Harlan Crow own a murder of nursing homes?

The obvious conclusion is that Clarence Thomas should be impeached and removed. He is the most corrupt Justice and also the most consistently wrong about every subject.
There are other decisions, like North Carolina’s redistricting, yet to come.
Maybe this decision was a bone tossed to distract from greater repression, yet to come.
As pointed out by Josh numerous times the present Court is illegitimate. The majority Conservatives on the Court have not acted as Judges following law and precedent. Their decisions are purely political. And yet they demand that the public not call them on this obvious point:
It’s this disconnect that underlies everything we’re seeing today: the “sucks to be you” jurisprudence matched with the “don’t you see this robe!” umbrage and entitlement we see on constant display.
They have the power to do what they want. Unfortunately what they want to do is opposed by the majority of Americans. And the 2024 elections are only 17 months away. The Operatives are getting nervous.
I think this was a bone and when majority-minority demographic increase - as they will - they’ll bring down a big hammer on voting rights.
Thomas is ruling should be enough evidence that he is a clear and present danger to our Republic. Who else writes rambling long history lessons about America before the Civil War, before America was America, to justify antebellum ideology.
I sometimes daydream that Clarence Thomas croaks and Biden appoints Hillary Clinton to take his place.
