Eric Trump took to Twitter Friday to launch his latest attack against the media: criticizing Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold for doing … journalism.
It just demonstrates how little they understand about how the world works, and that they think anything that might intrude on their world is a betrayal. They can’t comprehend that journalists offer to talk to people all the time, and that sometimes people will talk back to them…it’s probably their greatest fear that one of their employees will go to the press and share all the shenanigans going on.
Screaming “fake news” at the top of their lungs is the crux of their 2020 electoral strategy. But the more they yell that at the media, the more we realize how professional most members of the media actually are. This, like the Alabama affair, is a self-own.
Alabama’s so tired of Trump talking about them, they’re ready to go back to talking Roy Moore. All they were ever at risk for was a good wind, not unlike a meal at Mar-a-Lago.
I have to say, before I even read the responses, my own reaction was: “Wow, that seems really professional, I didn’t realize that what journalists do can be so straightforward. I’m glad I finally got to peek under the hood.”
