OT but.
The rethug House caucus is floundering over how to get to a new Speaker. Currently Jordan has a less than tenuous grip but there is more than a little resistance and Scott has thrown his hat in.
Is this an attempt to slow the show and try to find some compromise candidate?
All this reminds me of the shit show after Gingrich got pushed out. First it was Livingston, but it turned out he was banging a not his wife. Oops. Then they settled on Hastert, a former wrestling coach with a then unknown sex scandal about fondling the boys. Because rethugs refuse to recognize history they are now considering a different wrestling coach who did nothing when someone else was fondling the boys.

Politics is messy cuz people are messy. People like Menendez, greedy, opportunistic and foolish, appear again and again in both parties. Power and money attract. Menendez is an expensive burden, especially now.
I agree with Fetterman. Expel him.
It wouldn’t hurt to model a proper removal for the edification of the sadly less than loyal opposition.

Absolutely! We must make an example out of Menendez. A proper investigation, a proper trial, a proper verdict, and if guilty, swift and proper expulsion from government and the Democratic party.
We need this on the Left as much as the Right needs it. The GOP lost the battle for its soul, and now ours is in the crosshairs. If Menendez skates, or worse, remains in power, it will be proof that America is irredeemably corrupt and cannot be saved because it doesn’t want to be.

It is scheduled for May, but obviously that is fluid.
BTW NJ’s Primaries are in June.

Andy Aslanian, a New Jersey attorney who the USDA said in the report helped incorporate the company, told me that he did so to Hana as a personal favor along with other legal representation he had provided.
“I do a lot of favors for a lot of people,” Aslanian told TPM, saying that Hana had awarded him stock in ISEG Halal in exchange for legal work that he had performed for Hana over the years. The FBI interviewed Aslanian as part of its Menendez probe last year, he said.
“I do a lot of favors for a lot of people.”

Actually, U.S. citizen did die, Corley’s boyfriend, and maybe a couple others. Mendez is more worried about Cici’s $$$$$$$$ than anything else.
