Meadows Calls His Own Book ‘Fake News’ After Trump Attack | Talking Points Memo

A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things.

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who revealed in his upcoming book that Trump had tested positive for COVID-19 three days before his presidential debate with Biden, tried to moonwalk away from his bombshell report last night after his ex-boss called it “fake news.”

Right-wing media sites are dodging Facebook’s crackdown on misinformation by posting cute cat (and other animal) videos that redirects users to the sites to feed those users lies about the COVID-19 vaccine, the 2020 election, etc.

I’d call Meadows a chickenshit coward, but that would be an insult to chickenshit cowards. Is there not one Republican with a pair of balls? Maybe one of them can grow a fucking pair and they can all share it…

Meadows “I wanted people to buy my book. Who expected them to read it?”

Quick question… when all these faith based anti-vaxxers get sick, why don’t they go to church?

  • Meadows also not-so-subtly tried to temper Trump’s fury, making it a point to tell Newsmax that his book has “a lot of great stories” that “candidly talk about the miraculous work, the historic work that Donald Trump did.”

Shortest chapter. One paragraph.

I’m relieved: I really wanted to know if Susan Collins was ‘concerned…’.

What a craven, pathetic fool Meadows is. A disgraceful excuse for a human being.

They’ll finally be able to build the wall with all the unsold, remaindered Meadows memoirs.

Who cares what position Collins has on Roe. She’s not on the Court and will not make the decision. her part was in selecting those that will make the decision and she chose folks that are going to ax it. Kav is not Pro Life. He lacks the depth of personhood for something like that. He’s pro control and power. He’s pro Republican and the republican agenda. He’ll kill Roe because he’s been given the power to do it and he’ll relish the opportunity to do so.

These guys are just getting started. They’re on the Court and no one can boot them. It’s a GOP dream court and they have no intention of wasting it. Social Security, Medicare, ACA and public education are all in que. Unions, discrimination and Christian religion in the public sphere to follow.

With respect to Meadows’ book and his statement that something in it is fake news, who was the publisher of this book and who let the falsehood get through editing and review?

That person should lose their job today, if not sooner.

I suspect it did pass review and this guy is super-scared, or he is trying to avoid the embarrassment Chris Christie is experiencing with low book sales.

We’ve seen this story a 1000 times before: the irresistible allure of the promise of unlimited power. I am sure that Gollum could relate…

Washington (CNN)
Former President Donald Trump showed “a flagrant lack of regard for public health” and endangered White House staff by not disclosing a positive Covid-19 test he received last year, his former communications director said Wednesday.

“Full stop, this demonstrates a flagrant lack of regard for public health and for the well-being of others,” Alyssa Farah Griffin, who served for a time as the director of strategic communications and assistant to the president in the Trump White House, told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “The Lead.”
