Some Republicans are cheering on Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) rise in the Democratic presidential primary, confident that Sanders as the Democratic nominee would not only lose to President Donald Trump, but also torpedo Democrats’ campaigns down the ballot.
MoscowMitch knows this because Trump hasn’t delivered the goods for Russia, so they might rig the election for Bernie, hoping that he may deliver them a few countries by way of pulling our troops out of them and giving Russia a way in.
The GOP leader added that the Democratic candidates were all the same to him anyway, calling them “very, very far to the left.”
Both a truth as Moscow Mitch sees things, and a political statement. Leaves me wondering if he sees Putin as less far to the left than say, Joe Biden. Would explain a number of things.
Maybe Democrats don’t look so moderate to you because we’re all, no matter what policies we favor, absolutely enraged at you and your kind and we’re out for blood. We want to get our hands on you and tear you apart. Got it? None asked and none given, asshole. Just sleep tight because we’re coming.
Let’s not forget that MoscowMitch has killed election protection bills by letting it languish in his legislation graveyard.
So remember in November, whoever is the Dem nominee, the alternative is way way worst not only for the Ds/Is but for America, the threat of the Criminal IMPeetus + RethugniCON Party and their dictator/bone saw murderer cronies!
Not a fan of Joe Walsh but…
But I’m not a Democrat. It’s not my job to tell Democrats whom to choose. What I can do, and what I have done, is pledge that I’ll vote for their nominee. Even Bernie. He and I hardly agree on anything, but if he’s the nominee, I won’t just vote for him, I’ll campaign for him.
So in this primary season, vote for your ideal presidential nominee/future president BUT in the general election, VOTEBLUE2020~!
The republican model is top-down. They assume that Bernie at the top of the ticket (assuming he loses in the general) will trickle down to congress and the senate. The current mood among the electorate is decidedly bottom-up and I suspect MoscowMitch understands that more than most of the genuine Trumpanistas loyalists and Libertarian bozos who think they can roll over the entire Democratic party with a “socialist” candidate.
Trickle down models only work if one is willing to ignore vast quantities of data that suggests otherwise.
“I’m reminded of when the Democrats Republicans back in 1980 2016 were all pulling for Ronald Reagan Donald Trump to be the nominee because they thought he’d be the easiest to beat,” McConnell said.
That’s probably his intention with this interview, but I was already starting to think Bernie-as-Reagan may not be as wrong as some people think it is.
