McConnell Urges Trump To Listen To Bill Barr And Cool It On The Tweets

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said on Thursday night that President Donald Trump should lay off on tweeting his opinions about criminal cases after Attorney General Bill Barr said it’s “impossible” to do his job with Trump’s commentary in the background.

Mitch says “Maybe the President should listen to the attorney general.”

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said on Thursday night that President Donald Trump should lay off on tweeting his opinions…”

See, it’s not that Trump publicly claims the “legal right” to interfere in criminal cases.

Or that Trump illegally withheld military aid from an ally in the midst of being invaded by Russia.

Or even that a non-stop torrent of lies gush from Trump like a bad meal from a Tijuana crab shack.

Nope; it’s Trump “tweeting his opinions” that worries Mitch.

Hey Mitch, maybe you should have dumped Trump when you had the chance. Any idea what you are going to do now that he knows you are a coward?

This advice will only increase the frequency and insanity of future Trump Tweet Ravings…

To be honest, I think his insanity, delusion and paranoia are now rolling along under a head of steam and nothing anyone says or does (other than drug the living daylights out of him) will stop the juggernaut any more.

It really doesn’t matter whether Barr is being sincere or duplicitous (this, I think) because either way trump cannot quit tweeting.

I think we have to recognize that trump is absolutely unable to control many of the things he says and does. I am not being glib or trying to be insulting. I have a first degree relative who is schizophrenic and I know that this person is controlled by his illness. He doesn’t like it, but the illness is in charge, and after observing trump I believe he is not in charge either. He is absolutely compelled to tweet - for him it is a form of tension release that is required to prevent him from completely unraveling.

I absolutely believe that Barr and many other republicans are in denial about the extent of trump’s mental illness.

Trump listen to anybody but his own fetid, festering internal voice?

Good luck with that, Yertle.

Here is Evan Hurst (at Wonkette) on Billy Barr. Very good indeed.

“So, Bill Barr did an interview with ABC News, and we think the clever strategy here, obviously devised in cahoots with the White House, is that everybody is being so mean and calling Bill Barr Donald Trump’s low-rent Walgreens perfume counter Big Lots early bird special ribbed-for-her-pleasure knockoff version of Roy Cohn, a man who has turned the Justice Department into little more than a clearinghouse for Trump’s revenge fantasies, and everybody needs to KNOCK IT OFF.”
