Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Sunday declined to weigh in on former President Trump’s endorsement of celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz in the crowded Pennsylvania Senate race just weeks before the GOP primary.
If Trump expects swing PA voters to go for a guy who isn’t from PA just because he’s a celebrity, let him! Fetterman will clobber Oz no matter the political environment. So I’d be more than happy to see Oz get the TrumpGOP nomination. And by November Trump will be indicted and obviously lying and obstructing loudly every day.
New Poll Shows the ‘Putin Wing’ of the GOP Is Really Unpopular

More than three-quarters of American voters disapprove of instances when lawmakers have expressed support or admiration for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Other Republicans, like Sen. Ron Johnson, are distributors of Russian disinformation.
Seventy-one percent of American voters disapprove of former President Donald Trump’s recent comments praising Russian dictator Vladimir Putin as “pretty smart,” “savvy,” and a “genius,” according to a new Courier Newsroom/Data for Progress poll.
In contrast, only 17% of voters approve of Trump’s comments, which he made during a Feb. 22 radio interview and Feb. 23 speech at his Mar-a-Lago club, less than 48 hours prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The survey of 1,200 likely voters was conducted between March 11 and 14. The poll also found that 77% of voters, including 68% of Republican voters, disapprove of instances in recent years when other Republican lawmakers have expressed support or admiration for Putin.
Trump appeared on the doctor’s now-defunct TV show to tout his medical records
“You’re the very epitome of good health,” Oz noted. “If I weren’t already personally aware of your rigorous exercise and diet routines, I’d say Dr. Bornstein’s impeccable medical care must have something to do with your remarkable physical condition. But I know better. If I may say so, sir, you truly are an ageless Adonis.”
Helps to explain TFG meager crowds at his hateaploosas. Watching the GOP try and morph into decent human beings is going to be the event of the season.
As a Pennsylvanian, I don’t want to see Oz on the ballet come November. I would prefer not to see any of the Republican candidates on the ballot, but I know that’s not an option.
Also Fetterman doesn’t have it in the bag yet. I personally like all three of the top Democratic candidates - Fetterman, Lamb, and Kenyatta. They had a debate last Sunday, and Fetterman chose not to participate. I watched it, and I’m glad that I did. I’m not happy that Fetterman did not participate.
ETA: I would like to believe that Oz couldn’t win the general election in November, but I also thought that Trump couldn’t win Pennsylvania in 2016, so I’m not taking anything for granted.
