Words fail me. Well, there’s always: Fuck you, Mitch! (Why does that feel so hollow?)

McConnell said Senate Republicans’ position on impeachment would be no different than the White House’s position

All the more reason to draw this out

I mean…after all; Mitch has been creeping over to the W.H.- meeting with his handlers for the grand Senate Performance.

Jury Foreman: Your honor, I know this might be somewhat unusual, but I want the Court to understand that the jury will be working closely with the defendant. Other than that minor point, we take our oath very seriously.

Trump only knows one way to operate. As soon as the Senate acquits him it’ll be back to business as usual. Back to his criminal enterprises.
So, currently the House is saying they’re honor bound to impeach him, as holding him to his oath of office and preserving the integrity of the Constitution are paramount and their Constitutional duty.
Once he goes back to flouting the laws it seems the House’s obligations will not have changed. What do they do? Impeach him again? Politically I don’t see that happening. What’s next for the House in dealing with Trump, freshly acquitted, invigorated, “exonerated” and out for revenge?

If McConnell is taking his cues from the White House and probably Putin then thats jury tampering. I’d sooner trust Lance Ito to preside over the trial than him.

POS, Moscow Mitch.
Wish there was a secret little Rethug group that’s been meeting in private to figure out how to vote to impeach the criminal.
This may not go how Moscow Mitch thinks with the WH involved.

Just as the founding fathers envisioned.

There are no legal statutes, nor Constitutional imperatives, mandating how individual Senators conduct themselves leading up to an impeachment trial.

mcconnoll is an old coot, and will be dead soon. he will be looked upon by history and one of the slipperiest nastiest bastards that have ever disgraced the halls of congress… and that’s a high pile of shit to sit atop, but boy, of all the people who have damaged this country, he’s way up there.

Trump wants to call witnesses. Mitch okay with that?

(I wonder if his attorneys will talk him out of it, I hope not)

You know, I don’t really think he gives a crap about a legacy. He’s all about (abuse of) power now.

I waited out Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms, then was gifted Gingrich and Tom DeLay. The GOP will always have nasty bastards queued up, waiting to fill the slot of the last nasty bastard we were all looking forward to dying. It never ends. There will be no relief. Cockroaches have remained essentially unchanged for millions of years. So to will Republicans.

“There will be no difference between the President’s position and our position as to how to handle this to the extent that we can,” he said of impeachment. “We will be working through this process … in total coordination with the White House counsel.”

McConnell’s open admission of allegiance to the White House on the process firms up the new Republican effort to rush through impeachment in the House, under the belief that Trump will get a fair trial in the Senate

Huh?

I liked this comment. But I hated this comment because it’s 100% true. But I felt like it deserves likes, so …

Argh!
