Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday declined to criticize President Trump’s racist attacks on a group of Democratic congresswomen on Monday, instead declaring that Trump is not a racist and accusing both sides of inflammatory rhetoric.
.@senatemajldr asked a key question - if someone were to tell your own wife [Sec. of Transportation Elaine Chao] to “go back to her country,” would you consider that racist? McConnell declines to answer yes or no.
“Our cities are not filled with racists. Rather, these peaceful and well-mannered folk are being riled up by these hateful so-called ‘Freedom Riders’ encroaching on our lives. Both sides need to just back off, and let things cool down.”
“The President is not a racist. The President is not a racist,” McConnell said when asked again about the tweets. “And I think the tone of all of this is not good for the country. But it’s coming from all different ideological points of view, that’s the point. To single out any segment of this, I think is a mistake.”
Saying it twice or a million, gazillion times won’t make it true, turtlecup. And you’re right. We abhor the tone in which your President uses his tweets to spread racist memes and ideas and policies. We’re exercising our American rights to free speech to voice our ideological POV precisely because we want to save this country from the likes of you. If you don’t like it, then go back where you came from.
McConnell is a true reptile. Lying motionless for long periods of time and ready for evil.
He picks his spots.
Very telling that he is commenting on something he has no credibility on whatsoever. The GOP IS racist and so is Trump and so he had to poke his head out of his shell.
