Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Tuesday afternoon took a step away from the Trump administration’s stalling of the transition process between President-elect Joe Biden and President Donald Trump, who continues to falsely insist he won the election.
I don’t see anywhere that he actually backed up on anything. Just said that the next inauguration would happen on time, didn’t call for GSA to sign the transition paperwork or anything.
This is not 2000. Then there were conditions in which the partisan slant was not so one-sided and comical. Biden has been accepted by the majority of the country as President.
Every day going forward from 11/7/20 cements this fact more and more.
"We’re going to have an orderly transfer from this administration to the next one,” McConnell told reporters, per CNN. “What we all say about it is, frankly, irrelevant.”
I find these to be two contradictory statements. In the first he asserts that the transition will be orderly, but in the second he’s saying is it is up to Trump.
Are we going to find ourselves on 01/20/21 at 2PM or so with Biden as Pres, Harris as VP, but his staff is still locked out of info? It’s just more power plays with Mitch.
