It seems to me that this whole slow walking process that some were bitching about is just what was needed to bury Trump. Granted, the fat lady ain’t sung yet, but this statement by Moscow Mitch doesn’t bode well for the Orange One.

Hah. Even MoscowMitch is reading the tea leaves on this one and saying, in so many words, “you’re on your own on this one, bub”. Moscow’s Bitch is trying to walk back from the ledge so he doesn’t fall into this huge treasonous fuckup by tRump. Couple his words today with his big phony speech yesterday about how he’s always been a strong bulwark against advancing the interests of Russia over US interests, and it seems McTurtle has finally realized there’s no escape from that black sucking hole he keeps feeling that is forever tRump.
McTurtle wants to remain Majority Leader and he’s already walking a tightrope. This may be Turtlebreath’s first pivot. Then again, it may not…I still don’t trust a fucking thing he says or does.

MM is not part of the junta in the way that Pence, Pompeo, Mulvaney, Mnuchin, Miller (among others) are, though he is essential to its success. He hopes to use this distance, or appearance of distance, to save his neck.
He had “no idea what precipitated the delay.” And, because he is incurious by nature and generally happy to let things slide, he had no interest in finding out. Yah, for sure.

We wouldn’t even be in this mess had he just put the country ahead of his own ambitions and party. He’s as much to blame for where we’re at as tRump because he’s done nothing to prevent the abuses by the Orange One. Just the opposite. He enabled it and profited off it. He did so to subvert the entire system by corrupt means for his own power-grubbing ends. I want him gone too.

I don’t entirely believe my lying eyes but I just read on Twitter that Mitch said he had no objection to taking a vote on the whistleblower statement and the entire Senate just voted to have it given to Congress. Only two explanations I can think of: It’s not that bad, or it’s so very bad they want to get the whole resignation and so forth over with and regroup behind someone like Haley. And only one seems probable.
