Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told his Republican colleagues on Thursday that he anticipates that the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump will begin next week.

Except it’s not just a matter of ā€˜receiving the articles’, it’s also about the house assigning managers. Nancy has repeatedly said she won’t be able to do that until the senate decides on their process. It’s all so catch-22 absurd there’s no way it will go like they say.

Makes sense, I think Pelosi has gotten all of the mileage out of the hold that she can…new evidence came out, Bolton said he’d testify, and the Republicans look ever more like they will hold a sham trial. Her intent was to change the trial parameters into a real one, and the Republicans aren’t going to let that happen…holding longer just means giving Republicans more ammunition to make impeachment about hurting Trump instead of protecting the nation. Might as well let the Republicans have their sham trial, and then continue the investigations and see what else falls out.

If it was me, I’d wait to see if the Republicans call witnesses, then when they don’t see if Bolton says anything like ā€œI’d love to testifyā€ and then subpoena him…there is no difference between a House and Senate subpoena, if he ignores the former then he’s just part of the cover up. Then, just continue to investigate and press for information and documents…there is more out there that will come out before the election, having Republicans on record supporting Trump’s bad actions is going to hurt them in 2020 with independent voters and people who wanted a real trial.

Nancy Should wait to at least after the Superbowl. Better yet after the Wold Series.

Time for some…

BREAKING not NEWS!!!

ā€œWhen I did that drone strike, I was under the impression that it would knock impeachment out of the news for at least a month,ā€ a visibly enraged Trump said. ā€œInstead, it’s Wednesday and we’re back to this Pelosi garbage.

Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) told Politico McConnell had said during a lunch meeting that he expects House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to give him the articles of impeachment as early as Friday.

This is the greatest version of a Morning Joe talking points I think I’ve ever seen on TPM!

So I am guessing he has every good hope of proceeding, whether he receives the articles or not.

That’s what I’m taking away from this.

There’s a very very fine line between satire and Trump’s reality.

I wouldn’t know, I don’t watch them…sorry if my independent analysis is disagreeable to you, but you should have more of a comeback than ā€œMorning Joe!!!ā€ if you want to show you’ve actually thought out why Pelosi should hold onto the articles for a longer time and how that won’t cause blowback from people who want to see Trump tried. Show your work.

I hope she’s gaslighting him. If he’s puffing his chest out because next week then I hope she holds for at least another and two or three would be even better. He’s too despicable and I’m not satisfied yet. I’d like to see more egg on his face.

No, the day after the shitgibbon melts down during the State of the Union is when Speaker Pelosi should send the articles. Speaker Pelosi knows the shitgibbon will be incapable of controlling himself and going off-script.

I cannot see any remotely possible reason for Pelosi to give that Reptile a damn thing. Dems want a real trial. Those are her people.

And the so-called ā€œswing votersā€ are more interested in the NCAAs and the Superbowl to justify Moscow McConnell’s gambit in this announcement.

Because that’s what this is: a gambit.

If she can hold out that long it would be marvelous. She’ll be accused of playing politics but who cares? I don’t. The Republicans have played politics with no consequences and nothing but good results for them. I don’t think it will be any different for us, because Americans are a sorry enough lot to think life is a Hollywood movie and ā€œcounterpunchersā€ are heroes.

So I say we should stay right there in the pool, playing with huge inflatable pink flamingoes. The water’s fine.

I think she should say ā€œSoon.Very soon.ā€

Don’t bite on what McConnell says he ā€œexpectsā€ in his quest to goose the system. It starts when the House transmits the articles. That is an action within the gift of the Speaker, not the Senate majority leader.

Of course, the press falls for this spin every time . . .
