Exactly. Because anyone with integrity wouldn’t want history to remember them as a sham appointment via a sham process. They’d say—at a minimum—appreciate it, but I won’t accept and start a hearing unless nominated by the winner of the election.

In my opinion, Mitch McConnell had done more to undermine the Constitution of the United States than any US Senator since John C. Calhoun. Calhoun didn’t live to see the Civil War, but he is still revered in the South for laying the groundwork for that war.
He’s in a tie with Newt Gingrich.
IMHO, “Covid Amy” should be used. It kinda has that catchy (literally!) “Typhoid Mary” ring to it, don’t you think?

And waiting 6 months for some bipartisan commission to weigh in on the issue of expanding the court is far too long a time, and is courting irreparable damage to the country. Expand the court and institute term limits. Do it and move on to the next emergency.

I agree, most of the REPUGS currently elected at just about any level are cowards at heart. Our local REPUG sheriff has been spouting off recently, a couple of people stated that he should shut the fuck up. He sent a couple of his bully boys to have a talk. The boys came back with tails between their legs when they tried to “talk” with one. Seems that one, a woman at that, told them exactly where to go and asked them to go ahead and start it if they thought they had a chance. I know the woman and apparently, the bullies did also. I’m sure they decided they would rather have their head attached. The sheriff has been very quiet since.
I’ll edit to add. The woman is a former model and people assume because she was she is a pushover. A few years ago a neighbor tried to bully her off her property, actually the lot I purchased to build upon. Started a fire among other things that required a forest service response. Neighbor soon learnt that there were cameras onsite and captured everything. He then tried to start a fight and when she handed him his head tried to sue, cameras on that also. So people soon knew that she was able to defend herself and was prepared with evidence that she never started anything but soon finished everything.
