Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) signaled on Monday there would be no movement on impeachment until after Congress returns to session in January.
No shit, Mitch. Nancy already laid down the law. Maybe that’s why he’s so “tight-lipped”? He’s not in control of this, at all. No matter how hard he tries to convince the media otherwise.
I’m good with this. Nothing was going to happen anyways, and as we saw on the Friday night e-mail dump, there are more juicy tidbits to come.
Letting things marinate over the holidays means that it’s quite likely that there will be changed ground in the New Year, and that whole get-it-over-with sham trial will be running into more obstacles.
Hah. Why let a good impeachment trial get in the way of holiday or two? Amiright, Mitch? Isn’t he stating the obvious considering the calendar? Maybe throw in MLK day while you’re at it, huh Mitch? And then Valentine’s Day. No hurry. We’ll still be here and so will Speaker Pelosi. Lot’s of time for townhalls and constituent services in the meantime, motherfucker. (Or should I say Republicans running from the cameras or pretending to talk on their cell phones.)
No doubt Trump will be going nuts during the delay between now and the start of the Senate proceedings. He really doesn’t handle uncertainty well, and it seems as if all of his angst leaks out in the form of undisciplined “tweets” that spew his fear at anything that has his attention for that particular moment.
I know. Except that I’m blinded by the light when I look at those pictures. This is a party that knows from years of experience how to whitewash everything they do these days.
