Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) criticized fellow Republican Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) on Thursday over his “Rescue America” plan, a Republican agenda guidebook that Scott tried to push ahead of the 2022 midterms that was roundly rejected by many GOPers, including McConnell.
Ha. Rick (“Skeletor”) Scott just said the quiet parts out loud, let the cat out of the bag.
And if Senator Scott was able to “win Florida” by promising the elderly that he’d cut them off, he’s a better snake oil salesman than that former guy. Maybe Scott ought to be the next Republican presidential candidate. Slogan “He says the quiet parts OUT LOUD!”
Like all GOP voters, I’m sure they assumed that the programs he meant to drop unless reauthorized were all those ones to help the poor or to ensure civil rights for “those” people. It never occurred to them that the things they value would also be on the chopping block. GOP pols count on this every time they run.
