As damning testimony after damning testimony emerges from the House impeachment hearings this week, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) suggested it was time to shut the whole thing down.
This one never gets old:
“There’s two people I think Putin pays: [California Republican Dana] Rohrabacher and Trump,” McCarthy said

Curious, when this goes to the Senate to adjudicate the impeachment (is adjudicate the proper term?), will the Senate have the power to subpoena Hunter Biden and the whistle blower?
The only thing stopping the Republicans right now is that they don’t have the power to do so in the House. But that changes when this moves to the Senate.
Can you imagine clown show this will become if they are able to subpoena every shady Tom, Dick, and Harry tangentially related to the investigation.

McCarthy also attacked Democratic leadership, as well as freshmen Democrats who he claimed lied to the American people about wanting to legislate, arguing they only came to Washington to impeach Trump.

The Democratic House has passed and sent to the Senate over 160 Bills, NONE of which Moscow Mitch will allow to be brought into either the floor for a vote or into conference for discussion!

The Senate can do whatever it wants. But understand they will be conducting a trial in the full Senate, not an investigation by a Senate subcommittee. So it’s a bit different. Of course the Senate could open up its own Ukraine investigation today if they wanted and subpoena whoever they wanted.

I caught a bit of the Rethug questioning, or rather, grandstanding, on the radio an hour ago. It’s like they’ve rehearsed their lines beforehand, then put plugs in their ears so that they made sure to not hear anything from witnesses that would contradict their FOX talking points.
