The Republican strategy is to sow so much misinformation to the public, they get confused, overwhelmed, and tune out impeachment mess out of their busy lives.
As cynical as it sounds, the strategy often works.
What they want is a disengaged electorate that will miss any game changing evidence being presented at the hearings.

Among logical fallacies, it’s referred to as the Chewbacca Defense. It is far too common among “debaters” who are only interested in promulgating propaganda.
