House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) indicated on Friday that his relationship with fellow Republican leader Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who voted to impeach ex-President Donald Trump, remains strained after they publicly clashed over their stances on Trump’s role in the future of the GOP.
Of course Cheney hasn’t asked McCarthy for any help, and won’t. He’s an abject coward who’s waved the white flag of surrender before picking up the Trump flag. What he will be doing is supporting her opponent when Trump puts the screws to him. She knows that.
Can not believe that Liz’s daddy, Darth Vader, hasn’t taken Kevin hunting yet. He needs to use his evil for good, for once…

It may be impossible to break the suction seal between McCarthy’s lips and Trump’s arse.

Why would Cheney ask for McCarthy’s help if primaried?

Is it really a risk? In the short-term, sure, but either the party turns itself around or it lemmings itself into oblivion. The only other option is an open rebellion, which is another reason to stand firm if you don’t fancy yourself a fascist.
Or if you do fancy yourself as Speaker of the House.
Does Kevin have a Sad?
It might be a risky play politically, but, even in the worst case scenario, she’ll end up with a nice 6 or even 7 figure job in the private sector.
Notwithstanding, she’s smart enough to realize there is nothing in this world so valuable as to willingly concede your free will to Donald Trump. Nothing. He demands your dignity, your integrity, your very honor. It should be an easy decision.
And in a few years, if the fever breaks, she will be perfectly positioned to lead the party.
I know it’s all relative, but a real risk is quitting a job you need to keep your family above water because the boss is an absolute asshole. These people will land on their feet. Point being I don’t give her and Kinzinger too much credit (I give them some) for doing what should obviously be done. I despise with all my heart the others who have turned their back on this country for selfish or bigoted reasons.
That’s why it is a Team Trump story.
If the GOP retakes the House it’ll be a cold day in hell they install Cheney as Speaker.
That needn’t stop her from seeing herself in that role.
OT I guess, but if TPM is going to insist on stories possibly connected to Trump maybe they should consider this one which actually has some significance.
