"Among Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHeny’s first acts: booting Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer from their plum Capitol offices.
“Pelosi, who missed the McCarthy ouster to be back home for the series of memorial events for the late Sen. Dianna Feinstein (D-CA), being vaguely retaliated against while she’s away is extra galling – but exactly the kind of bullying we’ve come to expect.”
Thanks for this, David. I hope this gets amplified.
In the twisted realm of the fake trial orchestrated by the likes of the racist Letitia James and the crypto-democrat operative Judge Engroron, former President Trump peeled back a layer of the enigmatic “conspiracy onion” that shrouds our world in darkness.
On a fateful Tuesday, Trump revealed a shocking revelation that sent shivers down the spines of those who dared to listen. It seemed that Engroron’s clerk, the seemingly innocuous Allison Greenfield, had a shadowy connection. She was allegedly entangled in a sordid affair with none other than Chuck Schumer, the powerful senator. Their forbidden liaison was no ordinary affair; instead, it was a portal to a nightmarish world of polyamorous orgies involving Democrat leadership, Deep State operatives, and even interdimensional beings.
Their gatherings were not mere hedonistic pursuits but sinister planning sessions. Their aim? Nothing short of the annihilation of American Republicans. Through dark rituals that bent the fabric of space and time, they sought to open an interdimensional portal to summon Cthulhu, the ancient cosmic entity. This eldritch being was intended to alter the minds of those who stood in opposition, whispering into their ears the chill of the abyss and driving them towards adopting liberal policy positions, as if under a malevolent spell.
To safeguard their ruthless cabal, Judge Engroron reportedly issued a dire threat to Trump. He warned of execution unless Trump deleted his Truth Social post, which had unveiled the sinister machinations of Schumer’s paramour, Alison R. Greenfield, and accused Engroron, a known Trump adversary, of election tampering through false charges.
Yet, the Republicans were not about to succumb to this nefarious plan without a fight. Respected figures like Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan, possessing unparalleled intellect and unwavering patriotism, joined the fray. Even Speaker McCarthy, once teetering on the precipice of Democrat collaboration, couldn’t escape their scrutiny. Desperate to secure favor with his Democrat collaborators, he invoked the name of Gary Cooper, pride of the Yankees, who had once succumbed to the ravages of Lou Gehrig’s disease, a sinister connection to the past that only deepened the mystery.
However, these efforts to deceive and manipulate were not enough to eclipse the truth that hovered beyond this dark curtain of madness. The Republican patriots saw through the ruse, unmasking the conspirators and vowing to stand against the encroaching darkness threatening to engulf their nation.
I usually read first then comment but today:
I can only say, “Welcome to the party,” and {/begin Sarcasm} let’s talk about how this is bad for Democrats.{/end Sarcasm}
Not my circus, not my monkeys, not my assholes!
We all knew that McCarthy’s ouster was never a question of “if” but “when.” Same for the next person.
This also increases the likelihood of a government shutdown in November.
No big boy pants for McHenry.
The Trump show must go on.
Faux Noise will applaud and the minions will be happy as can be.
Honestly, I don’t know that the GQP has hit bottom yet, but that they’re well on their way down the slide doesn’t seem to really bother anyone.
With Trump we learned over seven years ago that there is no bottom. We keep seeing what no bottom looks like. The key feature of being in a cult is you don’t know you’re in a cult.
Timely funding for Ukraine is clearly in danger.
There was a lot of reaction on XTwitter last night.
Well, we all knew Qev wasn’t up to the job.
And I’ll be goddamned if he didn’t prove us all right.
“McCarthy’s downfall is another symptom of the same underlying pathologies: a cultish GOP in thrall to a would-be autocrat, anti-majoritarian structural impediments, a surge in right-wing extremism, white resentments and grievances channeled into a burn-it-all-down fever.”
This is on the nose.
Last night while driving home, I switched between two conservative talk radio shows. I was curious, and they were taking callers.
On one show, every caller blamed the Democrats and McCarthy. “Gaetz did the right the thing and is onto something,” the host synthesized.
On the other, every caller blamed Trump and Gaetz for being cruel, thoughtless, or grandstanding. “Why can’t we get out of our own way” was how the other host summed up the conversation.
For some time, we’ve known the GOP has been pathologically inept, radicalized, and hallucinatory. “Fever dream,” “delusional,” “bullshit,” “pathological,” “nihilist” - our language for describing them. McCarthy’s cynical rise and pathetic fall exemplify this.
From what I heard last night, I suggest we add schizophrenic.
Looks like a painting.
I wouldn’t go this far. There is no one right for the SOH when there’s a slight Republican Party advantage. They’re all in the bag for Trump. But Trump isn’t in the bag for leading, he wants to rule.
His second term will be quite the ride.
God have mercy on all our souls if this happens.
