House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) believes that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is holding back the articles of impeachment against President Trump to … sabotage Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT)?

I, for one, am grateful that Kevin McCarthy is soooooooo concerned about members of the opposition party. It’s humbling, really. And he’s not in any way trying to activate the Bernie Bots. I’m shocked–shocked that you would even think such a thing.
Pelosi should make an announcement tomorrow that states that Rep. McCarthy had brought up an issue that she hadn’t considered and that she is now going to send the articles the day after the Iowa Caucuses. Thanks, Kevin!

The Republicans never let logic or reality stop them from making their absurd arguments.

Do you know what would help Joe Biden? If Sanders, Warren, Klobuchar, and Booker were all stuck in Washington, D.C. listening to the impeachment trial for days on end instead of attending the debate or campaigning in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina.

McCarthy should probably cut back on his glue sniffing!

Trump’s ‘trial’ isnt going to be that long.

McCarthy needs to take some NyQuil, as he has a case of the fever swamps.

Better to be thought a fool and keep quiet, than to open your piehole and remove all doubt.

Words to live by, Kev…

How stupid is this guy? Rhetorical question.

First of all, the timing would also hurt Senator Warren who is also near the top of the Iowa polls, not to mention Klobuchar and Booker.

Secondly, is his argument seriously that the House should delay submitting the charges even longer? Because that’s what follows from his argument.

Obviously, he’s trying to drive a wedge between Sanders’ supporters and the Democratic Party at large, but is too stupid to keep his fingerprints off this dirty trick.

I don’t think being in DC for an impeachment trial is going to hurt any of the Senators running for President. It may actually help them.

Getting Trump out of office is the Dems #1 goal. What better way to demonstrate your commitment then sitting on an impeachment trial?

I think the Dem voters of Iowa, New Hampshire, etc will be ok with Dem senators not campaigning in their state for that.

Maybe McCarthy should worry about Republicans shutting down legitimate Presidential primary contests in various states to enable their thin-skinned leader? Just saying.

Oh for f’s sake — this again? I guess McCarthy learned his lessons from the Russians.

Football? Mindless millionaires butting heads while wearing brightly colored costumes? You’re right, that’s more palatable than listening to Giuliani.

i was asked earlier about something sim, and my argument was that folks love spectacles.

instead of mentioning that sanders might have a problem with impeachment as a whole, Kevin decided to go for the idea that a hearing hurts Sanders, because of Pelosi.

now Sanders can buy into it, but it would insane if he did.

Can somebody explain the reasoning that led McCarthy here because I’m lost. This is freaking all over the place. Does he think Sanders needs to travel to Iowa by horse to campaign? Has he never heard of airplanes?

What ever you might think about Pelosi holding back the Articles, it is clearly driving the Republicans batty.

This smacks of desperation on the party of McCarthy.

First problem I have is zero interest in football so I am always amazed when people seem to act like it is the breath of life. I actually agreed with your comment earlier.

But now, damn it, I have to agree with your new comment again. Stop making me agree with you.

Kevin McCarthy might as well also tie impeachment into another Benghazi investigation.

McCarthy is saying Bernie Sanders is gonna be the nominee because he is in first place??
Waaa???
All of the recent national polls I have seen do not have Sanders listed as first. And after what happened in 2016 I’d rather not trust polls anyway.
I have not firgotten Bernie’s recent cardiac problems. His mefical cond ition gives me pause. After all being a real president is not a normal job.
