What does it say about the rank and file Repubs in the House that they would elect dim bulb McCarthy to their leadership post???

Someday Kevin McCarthy won’t be representing CA-23. We can only pray that that day comes sooner than later.
The Cook PVI puts CA-23 at +14R, but as we saw with the flip of CA-21 last cycle, much of the GOP dominance is actually dependent on low, low, low voter turnout. Like a third of what you might see in a congressional race on the east coast. McCarthy’s schtick has propelled him to the top in his party, but his incompetence could be seen as a liability if the GOP ever had to legislate.
The real story here is that Kevin McCarthy has a mind.
In order to “change your mind” you have to have a mind. It is clear that McCarthy is one of the dumbest rocks in the box. He will go with them to the bitter end.
McConnell is evil, and will ultimately do what is is Mitch (and his wife’s family’s business)'s interests. McCarthy is not that smart, he will do whatever the folk on FOX PROPAGANDA NETWORK tell him to do.
