House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Tuesday predictably took a Trumpian approach to complaining about the Jan. 6 committee’s requests to 35 social media, email, and telecommunications firms to preserve records that it believes are relevant to its probe into the deadly Capitol insurrection.
Yeah, issuing an empty threat because you’re scared of exposure is pretty Trumpy all right. It never occurs to them to at least try to act like they might be actual public servants with a modicum of integrity who aren’t criming all the time. Never, never occurs to them.
Fuq off, Qevin. And when you’re done with that, go looq in the mirror and asq yourself what the hell is wrong with you. And then, Qevin, go fuq yourself.
Um, Kevin? I know you may be hitting the crack pipe with Mike Lindell, so I’ll inform you of a little fact that may have slipped your amoeba-sized mind: the Democrats are in the majority now. They can do harm to the telecoms right now if they don’t comply with their requests. Who do you think they are going to be scared of: a theoretical GOP majority which wouldn’t even take power until January 2023, or some really pissed off Democrats who have power right now?
4chan…at least the committee means business…and I have no doubt the request being sent to 4chan has the GQPers fucking terrified.
Still…I expect this should be enough that the GQP will hold off the production of anything until they’ve taken over and can kill the committee in 2023. Run out the clock always works for them, and they’ve got a hand-picked partisan judiciary to help them.
