Watching McCarthy deliver his commencement address I am struck by what a vacuous simpleton whore he is. His content and delivery is like that of a speech by a high school student for a drama produced in the multi-purpose room. He is high on his own farts.

Let’s not forget. He’s a Republican which means he’s a liar, hypocrite and immune to shame. He also finally got what he’s always wanted. His deal with the devil has already been voided in his lizard brain. He’ll fuck the country alright, but not because he has to with some deal but because he wants to. My spouse woke me at 12:10CT to see McCarthy accepting the gavel with a sorta rousing speech that dissolved into political nonsense that contradicated reality around 12:39 to McCarthy agreeing under oath not to screw the country and administered the oath for all members.
I dutifully watched, wandered to the bathroom and gave as much respect as I could and you can imagine to a man who finally was able to assume the level of power he had targeted more than 12 years ago, and barely achieved after giving up what was left of his soul.
Anyone who gave up something to Matt Gaetz has defined who he is. We all know we are not debating who McCarthy is - just what is the price.
If you are interested go watch the speech. If not just watch the next few weeks to see what happens.
I don’t think it will take long for honest people to wish Nancy was back in charge. Two months of McCarthy in charge will be sad.

A short edit. When asked at 1:15a CT how long he will be in charge in a few weeks, McCarthy replied ‘1000 percent’ and walked away from the cameras. I guess math is not his strong suit.

Yet another very dark day in the history of our great country. May the damage be limited and the influence of these radical, anti-democratic, authoritarian claimants to “leadership” like Trump, and yes Qevin McCarthy dissolve into oblivion.
May we all succeed in rebuilding our nation as a land of freedom, cherishing and strengthening our diversity, and rendering our great resources and moral strength toward sustaining the survival of this planet and ALL it peoples.

It remains to be seen whether those rules will be ratified. That was supposed to happen Friday night, then an extra Speaker vote followed by some empty speechifiying intervened. Tune in Monday.

I’ve already emailed my new Republican congresscritter Rudy Something-or-Other (a replacement for the ultra crazy, now deceased Wackie Jackie Walorski) asking if he’s enjoying his ride on the Clown Car. I also reminded him that his party does not have all the answers and needs to compromise to effectively legislate. So far, there’s been no response. I do not expect any of my comments will resonate. Walsorski never responded to any of my missives. But it felt good to write and send the email. Hang on tight! It’s going to be a rough two years.
