House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) — under pressure from the far-right — officially announced on Tuesday he is “directing” House committees to open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden over unclear and bogus accusations manufactured by Donald Trump defenders in his caucus.

Allegations, not evidence. Anti-America Republicans have been “uncovering” -read: making up- allegations for years. Using it now to impeach, rather than just as TV talking points, is really bad, but not unexpected. Buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy ride

Of course they are going to Impeach Biden, I am actually surprised they haven’t impeached him already. But they have zero chance of removing him from office, and might have the side-effect of getting Hunter Biden off the hook.
And yeah, no doubt in my mind that they are going to shut the government as well, because that is what they do, it’s fun, provides for many appearance invitations on Fox and Newsmax, and costs them absolutely nothing.
Not that they needed an excuse, but now these assholes have some red meat to whine and bitch about instead of discussing the goddamn budget. It’s a 2fer for them.

If I’m not mistaken, an ‘Impeachment Inquiry’ is a wholly made up concept now being repeated endlessly online and in the news. Though it didn’t exist until McCarthy invented it.
It’s function, of course, is to act in every way like an Impeachment, without ever having to meet any of the standards. Got it.

I would laugh at the circus that is the House GQP, but it’s not funny. We need a functional government, and, instead, we get the GQP clowncar.
