Right, you are going to wait until it isn’t going to make any difference.

Until the country is a heap of burning rubble, THEN he’ll speak out.

You think you owe silence, better to keep all the crazy buried. Who will give one rip when you decide to not be silent in the years to come.
PS Good luck with your book sales that won’t be telling it like it is.

Fuck you and your republican silence. You took an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Spineless.

Cowardice before country. The only thing necessary for triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing.

“There is a period in which I owe my silence,” he said. “It’s not eternal. It’s not going to be forever.”
Fucking Wimp
Traitor
Are you not paying attention to his behavior?
Will none of you except the Mooch speak up?
Oh I see … self preservation first

Off-Topic: This is not good. Reporters need to get this stuff right or they just reinforce the “Fake News” trope.

All of this adherence to rules in the face of someone destroying the rules. I guess Mattis doesn’t want Trump to mess with his pension.

Another general proves that there is no rank that disqualifies one from being a fucking shitbird. “Trump’s generals” all turned out to be full of shit.

If you consider Trump to be a Commander in Chief who deserves the respect and duty of silence that those who actually do preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, then you are mad, dawg.

Others can still do their jobs of serving and protecting the country if the truth about him is revealed. That’s not classified information, although I guess those foreign leaders who don’t already know how to play him would be able to use it to their advantage. Still, the country would be safer with his entire administration gone.

You just don’t want to be a target of his crazy.

As much as I tremble to argue with the wisdom of the crowd here I wonder what you would have him say that he didn’t say by his resignation and in his resignation letter. And I wonder what difference you think it would make, and if you’re entirely sure it would do any good.

They still have the responsibility of protecting this great big experiment of ours,” he said. “I know the malevolence some people feel for this country, and we have to give the people who are protecting us some time to carry out their duties without me adding my criticism to the cacophony that is right now so poisonous.”

The problem, Mr. Secretary, is that this administration is not protecting this “great big experiment of ours.” They are robbing it blind and selling it to the highest bidder. They are the ones that feel the malevolence for this country. It is your duty to this country to speak out, not to hold your tongue until it no longer matters.

I understand your thinking…and I am a even more sanguine.

From what I got from this statement is that

(1) Mad Dog Mattis believes that there is a world after Trump–and I take that in a certain way

(2) For a thin-skinned mook like Trump, Trump will take it as a rejection, whether he decides to visibly react or not.

I understand the sentiments here as well and fully support them

This whole temporary silence shit is his being too cute by half. You have a story General? Great, tell it, or quit mincing about and STFU.

What difference? We would know.
What good? See above.

Memo to General Mattis: if you want to protect our country, when Democrats in the House begin impeachment hearings please testify in support of it. Your live testimony would work with all but the hardest core deplorables.
