White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows exchanged text messages with at least 34 Republican members of Congress as they plotted to overturn President Trump’s loss in the 2020 election.
“Marshall law.” Is that the one where Trump would have put on a (honorary) silver star and ten-gallon hat, strode out on the White House balcony and proclaimed “Many people are saying that this town isn’t big enough for both me and Sleepy Joe”?
Contemptible fucking idiots, who can’t even spell the crimes they’re trying, and failing, to commit.
Just beginning to read the texts but how fucking stupid are these morons, texting their intentions is like broadcasting their shitty plans to the world in triplicate.
For a bunch of unethical assholes led by a king asshole, these people sure claim to do a whole lot of praying. Who to, I wonder? Ba’al or Saint Ronald?
I didn’t really see much overtly criminal in any of those texts themselves (though I am no expert in such things, nor would I claim to be), but it definitely seems like there are a lot of dots there to connect to potential criminal activity on Jan 6th. Can’t wait for more shoes to drop on that front!
OR, this was very clever @ss covering. Surely, somewhere, there is a “Marshall Law” that could provide plausible deniability of fomenting an insurrection…LOLOL
"‘Gosar also sent Meadows a link to a fringe blog called “Some Bitch Told Me.”’ That’s just a hilarious sentence, the horror underlying all of this notwithstanding. It’s the Keystone Kops meets Jackass meets the Nazi party.
I am not a lawyer, but I fail to understand why this does not constitute a criminal conspiracy. Overturning a valid election is surely a crime, and these guys (and some women) were obviously conspiring. Any legal minds out there who can explain this?
