I just sent my senator, Martin Heinrich, an email blasting him for coming out publicly with a call for Joe to withdraw. I let him know that whatever his thoughts are on the matter they should have been kept out of the press. This BS in only helpful in getting Trump re-elected.
I also let him know that if he is advocating for an open convention then I’ll be leaving the office of US Senator blank on my ballot this year. Heinrich is going to win re-election at any rate.
Per the NYT Hollywood talent agency founder Tom Strickler said he told Heinrich he would not be donating to Heinrich’s campaign unless he called for Biden to step aside.
Disgusting.
ETA- if it looks like Heinrich race is actually competitive I’ll hold my nose and vote for him despite what I told him in the email.

Also, Williamson’s ploy perfectly illustrates the risks of dumping a successful incumbent after the primaries. You don’t get the perfect candidate you’re dreaming about, you get the weirdos who have no career to trash and who couldn’t get elected any other way.

When will folks get it. Biden is pretty old and will have to turn much of business of running America over to his administration. We have the last 3.5 years to look at to see just how that might go down. Trump is incapable of running the country and will assemble an administration all to willing to let him trash the joint. No one in Trump 2 is going to cross Trump on bad policy decisions.
So really the next 4 years will be governed by the kind of people Biden will assemble or by Trump alone. No one else is going to the Oval Office. Not Harris or this ridiculous Williamson or the even more ridiculous Kennedy. It will be a Biden team or Trump in 2025.
How is that a difficult decision to make? Trashing Biden is not going to put another Democrat in office. It’s already moved the needle in Trump’s favor. Why is this happening?

Marianne Williamson is a loon and she won’t be the nominee of the party no matter what happens. Also, it seems a bit on the nose to be lobbying DNC delegates.
