Manhattan Prosecutor Bears Down On Trump | Talking Points Memo

he kinda blew that one out of the water during the debate with Hillary.
Said he is smarter than the IRS.

There is a Ruben Blades song called Tras La Tormenta which talks about life and weathering the storm.

Trump–with his Presidential Toys, Paid Slaves in Congress and Cult–is capable of making us FEEL that the spot we are in will never end. That, plus the Roy Cohn tricks, is on full display during this Transition Period.

And it does not help when the most sadistically evil man ever to hold a Senate seat is doing his own version of Destruction.

But Trump, when he leaves Office, will be dramatically diminished.

He’s phoned some of the con SCOTUS jurists (count on it, it’s who Trump is) and they’ve or their reps have told him “no can do.”

Supposing he is actually brought to trial somewhere, you are sure of a prison sentence?

I suspect it’s pretty much gotten to that stage already. It’s like lenders - once you’ve singed all of their fingers, they’re not eager to put their hands back onto the burner.

Good guess. I was sure he would have called “his” justices

Indeed, and I am under no real illusion that Trump will ever be convicted of a crime, so immune to reality are his cult. But his twilight years are going to be immeasurably stressful and altogether unpleasant. When the dotard passes, there will still be very strong, very powerful Damoclean swords hanging above his head, people are saying more swords than have ever hung over any other man’s head. That will have to be enough.

I think there’s two separate issues, one is a civil investigation, the State, I think, and one is criminal, Vance. Or maybe it’s vice versa.

But what about the Manhattan Bulls?

Intent to evade taxes? That’s not hard to prove when the defendant is pumping up his valuations and income for the sake of obtaining loans while simultaneously depressing his valuation and revenue for the sake of lowering his taxes.

As to the advice of counsel defense, the thing is that asserting it waives the otherwise applicable attorney-client privilege. I think it’s rather more likely that the communications with and among Trump’s lawyers will be inculpatory rather than exculpatory. The people Trump hires are not exactly adverse to enabling his criming.

Approximately six of them. Four said “yes, sir!” And two let it go to voicemail.

I’m not sure he’ll spend anytime in prison but I’ll be satisfied if he’s made to pay back everything he’s stolen, absconded with, hidden, avoided paying and lied about, that’ll bankrupt him into the poor house or make him a very miserable man for the rest of his lying and dying days.

And anyone offering to bail him out when those decisions are forthcoming should be told it is unacceptable as a resolution, and be stopped by the courts so he can face maximum responsibility for his corruption. He should be made to pick up all the money he’s in arrears by paying out of his own damn pocket…and proof of where that money comes from should be high up on the list of how that restitution is made. Can’t pay…then oh-well…they can lock him up until he does. tRump makes Bernie Madoff and Charles Ponzi look like pipsqueaks and small-fries.

Likely fits up under tax fraud, failing to report that income.

I just read there’s an understanding and the NYPD cops have a division that selectively prosecutes criminal stuff there. It’s verging on being one of those sorry-I-asked deals.

What are the odds he pisses of to Florida and refuses to return to NY even if charged? And what are the odds that he gets away with it?
