Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office spoke out for the first time since the House GOP sent a conspiracy theory-laced letter to the DA demanding that he testify before Congress about the expected indictment of former President Donald Trump in the Stormy Daniels hush money case.
“We will not be intimidated by attempts to undermine the justice process, nor will we let baseless accusations deter us from fairly applying the law,” a spokesperson for Bragg’s office told Fox News.
I wish he had replied with something along the lines of “…I will not testify in what plainly appears to be a politically motivated fishing expedition.”
Bragg should engage in a little subtle counter intimidation. Something like, “Speaker McCarthy and his colleagues would do well to consult with an attorney before they insert themselves in this or any state investigation, to ensure that they do not step over the line into obstruction of justice, or worse.”
What’s that line about something aging like milk? I couldn’t ask for a better Tuesday than the GOP establishment coming out on the record to defend a guy for fucking a porn star while his wife was pregnant and then paying her off so that it wouldn’t hurt his chances in an election.
To paraphrase that one guy who didn’t cheat on his wife with a porn star, “Please proceed, GOP.”
… demanding his sworn testimony on the “politically motivated prosecution” of Trump …
Gee, if they already know it’s a corrupt process, further investigation should be unnecessary.
Why don’t they just get on with referring the charges supported by their evidence?(ed.)
I was trying to formulate that concept: a Congressional committee has predetermined that an investigation has predetermined the outcome of an investigation, and thus wants to investigate…
If the Republicans really want Bragg to testify about a “politically motivated prosecution” or “politically motivated prosecutorial decision”…fine. There is none and will be none. The decision and prosecution will be motivated by and based on the law and the facts, not on politics.
