Manchin On Build Back Better Bill: ‘It’s Dead’

“What Build Back Better bill?” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said incredulously when asked by reporters Tuesday about progress on the legislation.

And so will you be someday, and I won’t be sad.

Please vote for Biden’s SCOTUS nomination.

Then go pout on your boat.

JFC, when will Democrats wake up to the fact that they’re being trolled by this asshole?

Don’t get even - get better Democratic Senators elected in 2022 and hold the House. We’ll then have a Senate that can implement President Biden’s plans instead of this watered-down bullshit.

It it will garner “republican support” it’s not what’s needed. The fight for voting rights in the USA is all about fighting the GOP’s effort to deny them.

I would take reforming how Electoral College votes are tabulated. In that instance, half a loaf is better than none. That said, we just have to focus on winning the Senate (52+ Dem Senators) and holding the House.

Had president manchin been running against tfg I’d probably have held my nose and voted for manchin but I’m very disgusted that he’s installed himself in the office. I do hope that in the relatively near future President Biden can stomp on manchin’s dangerously inflated head.

Again, Manchin while claiming profound mistreatment continues to fling shit unnecessarily at his fellow Democrats. There are thousands of ways he could have framed this, offering a nod to differing priorities among the caucus, etc. But, no, he has to lob another grenade. “Yes, it is dead, Joe. We know. You killed it. Now please put away the gun.”

I am hopeful - when I can generate it - that at least some proposals will make their way into the next full budget while Democrats still control Congress. For all you who understand the details of such things, is that next autumn, or could a budget for 2023 resolution be passed earlier? Yes, I would love the D’s to cling to control in the next Congress too, but with Manchin still pouting who knows.

Obviously I am hopeful Manchin and Sinema will remain supportive on the courts, but I’m still pissed as hell at their inability to deliver anything from the many positive items on the Build Back Better agenda.

“No, no, no — it’s dead.”

And so is any goodwill that may have existed from the electorate to him since he decided to become a troll.

What will be the Manchin Administration’s legislative initiatives?

Yet, he chooses bedrock opposition when a supermajority of his constituents supports the provisions in the bill.

Kind of makes you wonder how much money someone paid him to derail progress for the next 20 years. I wonder if it was cheap like a bargain or if he demands the big bucks. Doesn’t anybody follow the money anymore?
